Mike hasn't steered me wrong yet. So when he lends his advice, I listen... Most of the time.

Nothing wrong with training biceps, though I joke about it in the gym alot. I train them once a week, but nothing too crazy, mostly machine curls, then some hammers. You have to keep them somewhat strong. I don't train them heavy,I go fairly light for highish reps, doesn't matter though, they don't grow either way.
Crom Laughs....
So, how long are you gonna keep powerlifting?
- Until they drain my blood out and fill me with embalming fluid I'm gonna do this....

And I don't have any problem with biceps training. It's just that after bench press, tris, lats, and shoulders, I'm pretty much ready to be done. Plus they're not exactly a weakness and my forearms are literally bigger than my 12 year old son's head, let alone biceps. So I just kinda throw them in as an afterthought to keep the elbows healthy. If I make a real effort to focus on aesthetics I'm sure I'll do 5-6 sets or something...

First your warm up routine
Now your user name
I am creating a great powerlifter step by step.....
EDIT FOR BRANDON: I came up with this name as a reference to "The Godfather" which is one of (or the) greatest gangster movies of all time. You wouldn't know because you've never seen it (or Scarface)Better Body Sports

Speed Pull

315x6x1
Standing Abs
Superset with
DB Shrugs (90 lb)

I'm pretty sure Pause Squats are a better fit for me than box squats. You can see in the vid how fast I can move vs Box Squats. I guess it has to do with my style of squatting??? And I'm still about 1-1.5 inches off the ground on deadlifts. The excuse is not a good one- convenience.
Deload next week. Not sure if I will do DE days or not. Open to opinions.

That's one excuse.
You want to know the real reason lol? I wear the do-wins to squat in. And I'll be damned if I'm going to change into my chucks in the middle of my workout. I actually hurt my back once (you might actually remember that) DL with my do wins on. So I'm off setting the do wins with being an inch off the floor lol.

I got a couple of 45's for my sled today.
That's what I've needed. I've been using a cinder block and 4x cement 7.5's (srs).
So after this weeks Deload, probably starting with Thu/Fri's DE work, I'll be starting the conditioning protocol from the 3 month BBB Challenge.
2 days a week walking 1-2 miles.
2 days a week of sled with 90 lb. 40 yards x10.
Or just 4 days of sled.
Fuking neg me if I don't do it. I want to squat and DL 600 pounds this year, but I don't want to do it @ @ BW of 325 lb's lol (edit: I'm not 325 lbs btw, and I don't want to be).Last edited by Black_Spit; 04-02-2012 at 06:59 PM.
