guise will my team hate me if I wore a singlet completely different from the rest of the team? Just got our singlets today. It's light green with "VIKINGS" (our mascot) written in yellow plain font on the midsection. I tried it on and I must say... hell naw I can't go out there and wrestle in this **** lol.

Thinking of just using my solid-colored black singlet I bought for powerlifting competitions but my team might think wrongly of me

    Motivation

I used to wrestle for a man named Mike Powell, but stopped this year. This man remains an inspiration and hero to me. I just wanted to share his story with all you wrestlers and also bodybuilders because it motivates me every time I watch it, and hopefully it could help some of you guys. ESPN recently did a E:60 on him, which I cannot post a link of but it's called In Relentless Pursuit: Mike Powell's Fight on Youtube.

Thanks guys, I hope you all have great seasons.

I need help. Like seriously i need a lot of help. I am writing this right after a humiliating, and i mean humiliating defeat at this tournament. I wrestle 220s and i'm small for the class, since i'm 205lbs. However, i am 6'2. I'll post lots of pictures about my body at the bottom. The reason i created this thread is because I really need help from you big guys that wrestle. I never want to lose like that again, i was winning going in for 3rd place and i got pinned. What i need from you guys is to list everything that helped you be a good big wrestler. I'm talking about setups, takedowns, what kind of tie ups, referee position top and bottom moves, pins, defense, EVERYTHING. I honestly want to be one of the best and I WILL NOT lose like this again the next tournament. I really need takedowns that are good and also setups, since i never took a shot during any of my matches due to not having setups, not knowing how to get good setups, and not knowing the right takedowns.

Cliff: Post takedowns, setups, pins, referee position moves, defense, etc. that is good for wrestlers that are around 195 to heavyweight.
    Here's what i look like/ info on my body.WP_000970.jpgWP_000968.jpgWP_000967.jpgWP_000880.jpg

I do, i run everyday, but after losing i ran even harder last night, and i will continue to run harder. Thank you so much this post was very helpful I'll look into these moves. However do you think i should be doing high c's since the guys i wrestled were short and fat, will this be effective?

I enjoy doing IF, and so I tried it with wrestling practice; didnt go very well, I'd recommend to have a light snack or something before practice. Or you could just try and see how you are after/during practice.

today was the first practice. really hard but didn't quit and kept trying. i wrestled with the captains cause i joined their group. they were really nice and we were trying to push one another off the mat and they wouldn't fall off they got close but got me off it. felt like he broke my arm when i was the defense on refs position. and then we jogged and sprinted in circles and coach would pick 2 people to wrestle on the mat. wrestled this kid hes big like fat. and i grabbed his leg and took him down and he tried to flip over but i pinned him and won. i got practice this whole week, not sure if i should still go the gym sore after. i keep getting dehydrated like 1 hour into practice but i drink like 6 waterbottles before practice like 2-4 hours before

    1. Try harder at practice. The best conditioning for wrestling is wrestling. 2. Be patient. The season just started, everyone's conditioning blows. 3. Distance running, sprints, anything that makes you out of breath will help.

First practice was alright. I was partnered up with someone who was just difficult work with. The coaches taught us some moves. I tried, but then I just failed.

Edit-My left knee is killing me from running, it hurt during practice and is worsening. What should I do?

been practicing for a few weeks. today i just broke down and couldn't wrestle. felt like i was going to pass out. elbows, forearms, ankles, shins, feet, and my injured leg were all aching. never felt a pain like it before. i've been waking up in the middle of the night not being able to walk because my feet ache so bad from wrestling.

i need to be 120 by saturday morning. i'm usually 125ish before practice, and around 122.6 after. haven't gone lower than 122.6. i have been eating 500 below maintenance for the past few weeks, still not enough.

today i just got frustrated at being so sore and not being able to wrestle that i said fuk it idgaf i'll wrestle 126 and ate mcdonalds till i was full. now i still wanna hit 120, but i read it's good to have a cheat day every now and then.

honestly wrestling is fun but having to take ibuprofen before every single practice and using icy hot is getting damn annoying.

Try buying a knee pad and icing it, but there's not a whole lot you can do. Don't miss practice in less you have too.

Are any of your guys wrestling rooms really crowded? We got a ton of freshmen this year and I hope some quit cause its hard to wrestle live when you have to worry about falling on people...

    Thanks, I'll try that.

My knee didn't amount to the pain when my partner did a move wrong and legit had his knee on my sack. 180lbs on my sack almost killed me.
My wrestling room is somewhat crowded, but I think some will quit.

Fml. I cam in 7.5 over today, but had a good practice and lost 6. Afterward I was drenched in sweat and changed quick before I ran out to my car. It's 30 degrees outside and I almost froze my balls of heading to my car cause I didn't change underwear. After slipping into my car with a sigh of relief, I put the key in the it ignition and turned it. Nothing. I tried again. Nothing. My battery died and I had to wait a half hour before my dad came up and jumped me. I think my testicles retracted into my stomach, I was so cold.

So uh, I constantly wrestle with this 4th year wrestler, and when in neutral, I can manage to get a leg for a sweep single. However the d00d always cracks down on that leg, reaches over my body and wraps his arms around my thigh/crotch and I'm ****ed. Dafaqdoido??? Got a tournament this week albeit against lower-skilled people but still, if I face I guy who could do that I'm screwed on neutral cause that's my main(only) weapon.

IIRC it's just helps mentally, not so much physically. It just feels good to treat yourself here and there and not be strict all the way through so you don't go insane.
