Fuuuu went 1-1 2 days ago. First kid wasn't good and I almost teched him in the 1st period, (instead I pinned him in the second).
Next kid was ranked 8th on the state and he dominated me. Took me down and let me up about 5-6 times until he pinned me late in the second period. I need to be able to hang with these guys. I think my problem in neatest was that I was too flat footed. After he took me down twice I practically completely disregarded offense.

Yea the thing is my defense is actually pretty good usually, but I have a weakness for very aggressive kids. I've been working on being more aggressive and feel I'm improving.
On another note, we had a 3 time state champion (almost 4 got 2nd freshmen year) at the room today. He's wrestling for ohio state now and I had to drill with him. I almost died in drilling. I was so tired my form went to chit, but I still feel like I learned a lot.

Hang in there you guys.......stick with it and study some clips if anybody is filming you. Figure out where your holes are and work on them.
Wrestle in the Off-Season
Lift
Join a camp or two during the summer
Ask questions
Wrestle with somebody that is better and heavier than you
Those will make a HUGE difference.

Fuark, yesterday I wrestled varsity 60's and 70's at a single dual meet, lost both matches...I should of beat both. I missed out on a ton of mat time earlier in the year and its showing. both the kids were pretty decent though so it was a good wake up call before the weekend. I felt alot better at 60's after cutting down though. Cant wait for my tourney this weekend

fffffuuuuu experienced first shoulder injury yesterday at a dual meet. Guy got a legvine in then powerhalfed that side. Did utterly stupid move by trying to remove the powerhalf with the hand on that side rather than keeping my elbows tight and he proceeded to overtorque it way the **** up there.
Just did some light shoulder excercises all practice today. Pain is still bad. I can still move my arm full motion except backwards. Can't draw any power from it either. We'll see if it gets good enough for Saturday's tournament.
If it's your first year, it's whatever. As my coach told our first-years, this will be your "beat-up season and you're the beatee." Guy on my team went 1-17 his first year and ended up qualifying for masters/sections (level before state) his 3rd year.
