In texas wrestling, all the divisions are combined, 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a are not separated. So when some states like oklahoma, have 5 state champs, runner ups, third placers, ectera at every weight. There is only one champ in texas for each weight, in the second most populated state. Not saying wrestling is the best in texas, but sheer numbers can make it difficult at the state level. Most upper weights in texas are dominated by upperclassmen. At 189 last year, the top 4 were all state champs at one point and graduated. At 180, the state Champ is from Allen(dallas) and they only compete out of state for the most part. the third, fourth and fifth placers graduated if i am correct.
Also 189 is weak at the moment. other weights were 10x more competitive.

Also i stand by my previous statement. I dont think any good wrestler will get spladled, unless the rider is absolutely amazing at it. I could hit a spladle on a scrub wrestler, but if i tried to on a decent wrestler it wouldnt happen.
Sure, there are exceptions, maybe it just never happens where i live, but out of 15 weights yesterday, 72 teams, 64 man brackets, i didnt see a single spladle, and there were dozens of state ranked guys. Will Rep back on RC

Hey guys, I wrestled 152 last year as a freshman, but I'm not wrestling this year because I got a concussion, and had a lot of other **** to deal with.
I'm going to wrestle next year, probably at the higher weights (189-215) because there will be nobody else to fill those spots. Does anybody know where I can search to wrestle in a nearby area, or go for open mats? I have some experience in wrestle and got a lot better near the end of the year, but if I want to be good I'll need to do some more training Thanks guysCurrent/By July(Beginning of summer) - Bench to chest, squat parallel, deadlift no belt or straps.
Bench: 215/250
Squat: ???/315
Deadlift: 390/450

24-11, qualified but got a concussion
31-9, 3rd at metros, district runner-up, 6th place
Placed in all 3 styles at Ironman Nationals, probably one of the smaller "national tournaments"
Nebraska-Omaha Summer League Team
Went to the World Class Team Tournament Camp, hosted by Terry Brands and Erik Aken, went 11-3 there.
Practiced with UNO a little over the fall
Currently 19-3 this season.
I know I.m not undefeated like you and my pic is old lol. Also on the mat I'm stronger than what my lifts say. Ok srs question, are there college teams in florida besides ucf?
