Was at the gym yesterday, and heard these gems from some 140 pound asian kid:
- "Ok so, overhand barbell rows build mass only, and underhand rows only build strength, don't do both, just focus on one dude"
- "The key to deadlifts is to NEVER let the weight touch the ground, that way the weight is always transferred to your back"
Proceeded to teach his mates atrocious deadlift form, and box squats on a Smith Machine
A few others:
- "Faaaark look at that guys veins, he must be on steroids"
- "If you wanna shape chest, just use the Pec Deck man, don't worry bout the flat bench, it makes your pecs flabby if you overwork it bro"
- "I don't eat eggs because they have too many carbs"
- "Hey Madnegrobro, I think you should do more reps on your incline bench man, 5 reps won't do much for you brah"
- "My mate who is in fitness says you should only eat around 50g carbs on a bulk man, you're going overboard and you're gonna wreck your liver and kidneys"
etc, you get the idea

Love it when people bro-science up my squat form. Not saying my form is perfect, I tuck at the bottom and back is not always as tight as it should be but it ain't bad.
- You shouldn't squat wide like that because you can damage your knees
- Try using the pad otherwise you can damage your vertebra
I just tell them that the guy who taught me to squat squats 340kg, that normally shuts them up (know I'm safe since he is national IPF champ).

This one guy came out of nowhere while I was curling in the squat rack and told me:
"Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad back from driving the truck but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like to my mother in front of me. Probably never happen though you are probably just an internet tough guy. I doubt very seriously you would say that to someones face. Just my thought. What do you think. Oh I am sorry you probably do not have a brain. I on the other hand will be happy to buy you a plane ticket to come here and see if you have the nerve to say that to someone I know."
He was really 6'4", but he didn't look like 245lbs.CAN YOU COPY & PASTE? You could’ve already made $80 today!

Its ok to sacrifice your form so you can go heavier, cause going heavier builds more muscle. (The guy was squating down half the distance when he was doing bent over rows because the weight was way to heavy, be he thinks its working)
Everybody else uses bad form when working out their back so its ok. (This one was swinging his upper body so far back doing widegrip lat pull downs it looked more like a variation of a seated row)

Yeah, that's one thing that really gets under my skin. Guys who very rarely squat, or squat like 40-50kg, telling me how many reps to do, how deep to go, etc. I spent ages trying to get my form on point; watching videos, doing bar only squats next to a mirror to check depth and back, and then some dickhead comes of nowhere and goes "Hey bro, you're gonna fux ur knees up if you go that deep".
Feel like just grabbing them and shaking them, telling them it's been proven that ATG is better than parallel because the knee is at full flexion, but alas, I'd get thrown out of the gym

Please stop preaching your broscience, so according to that your saying person X has the genetics therefore doesn't need to train hard or eat? Success comes to those who work for it, not to those who whinge on a forum about their crappy genetics and how they have tried every workout/diet plan for 5 years yet wont start a journal log.

"if you want to gain mass, your preworkout meal shoud be 2 liters of milk, 3 bananas and lots of sugar"
"if you do low reps and heavy weights, once you are 50 or 60 years old you will be not be able to walk"
"you have to train biceps at least 3 days a week"
both guys that told me this, are obese, and one of them had like 2 heart attacksNI GALLINA NI BOSTERO, DEL ROJO HASTA LOS HUEVOS

Worked out with a couple of buddies of mine yesterday, they hardly ever go and when they do just follow me. Looked over at some guy, guy had decent mass and was shredded. They said "Don't ever try to workout to look like him" I said "why hes got a pretty good build" They said "his biceps and triceps are too short, they end too far from his elbow". Did not have the motivation to explain that insertion points were genetic and not routine based......
