How do you get motivated to do things , over the past year or so, ive lost complete motivation in doing everything. Now all i do on weekends is sleep in till like 1 and then just watch tv and go to bed at 1. Have stopped going out with mates , lifes boring atm , but i know its because i just cant get myself motivated to do things. And also i might be joining the gym next week and im worried i wont stick to it.
Any help will be good?

Imagine how good you will both look and feel when you obtain your goals. See yourself silencing those who questioned you and your abilities. Think positive and strive for complete and utter success, accepting nothing less. Imagine the huge confidence boost you will receive and the masses of compliments and stares you will command with your new body. You will make the ladies want you and the guys want to be you.
Perseverance is the key to success. Do not forget this. Do what makes you happy and remember that YOU are the most important person. Others may try to put you down or slow your progress on your journey. Smile kindly in return and use their pathetic words/actions as fuel in your training. Stay confident and motivated and you will achieve and exceed your goals and of coarse, their and your expectations.
To begin with, make your goals achievable/small, i.e. "I will increase my bench by 20 pounds in 4 months". or something like this. Reward yourself for achieving these goals, possibly purchasing a new supplement you've always wanted to try or having an awesome cheat meal. Whatever works for you =]<<:::>> Founder, CMO, Researcher, & Writer at Spartan Supps. <<:::>>

^^Very nice message bro. Was about to rep but still on spread. However OP, if you do not start to do anything now, you're going to end up with nothing. Everybody has the potential to achieve whatever they want, you just need to get up and put your mind to it. Bodybuilding and every other things are not easy but once you start seeing result you will realize that all the hard work is worth the pain you put into it. You will gain more confidence and feel better about yourself. Also, you will be healthier and your posture will improve. That's just some benefits of what you will get once your results start to show. Now get your ass off the internet and start going to the gym .

I tell myself the same thing each time I lack motivation or will to go on, when I feel like I can't finish my sets. "If I wanna get buff, I wanna lift." and for those last few reps, I always push through thinking of my gf, lift so I can beat the shet out of the guy's who try anything funny. Discipline is a lot better than motivation because it never fades, you either do it because you want to, or you do it because it's what you do. If you have to look for the inspiration to get working in the gym, you probably won't make it every far. Think of training as you directly working towards your goals, you obviously wanna achieve your goals, therefore you obviously wanna train. Don't make it a task, nobody is gonna force you, it's an open opportunity to improve yourself.
Strive for progress not perfection
Start lifts: Bench - 45lbs/Squat - 65lbs/Deadlift - 90lbs/Overhead press - 20lbs
Current lifts: Bench - 185lbs/Squat - 265lbs/Deadlift - 330lbs/ Overhead press - 120lbs
Not everyone wants to get as big as Ronnie Coleman, stop making people insecure by calling them anorexic.
