In light of the extreme focus this board has in regards to the 'body beautiful' (and the frustration that results in people not 'getting results fast enough'), I thought I would create a sticky that changed the focus a little....
This is a thread for posters to use to recognise 'every day' cardio/ strength or training achievements or challenges... Be it doing a PB on deadlifts, achieving that bodyweight pull-up, increasing your run speed or distance, or making it through a new grueling cardio routine - The small things that made you smile and do a happy dance of victory in the gym!
Share the torture/ torment and triumphs here (and perhaps set a challenge for others, and yourselves, for the next workout too)!

Victory: Yesterday I did a full 20 mintes of HIIT on the treadmill, run 7mph and jog 5 mph. Previously, I was only able to to about 10 minutes and then continue with a light jog for the rest of the time. But yesterday I decided to push forward and I surprised myself.
Challenge: I have yet to do a pull up or 10 pushups :/

My first post here (that in and of itself is a big one, as I've been lurking/reading/learning here for about 6 months!) ....
Last week I decided to start AllPro's beginner routine which meant that I, for the very first time, had to enter the free weight section of the gym. Very scary stuff. But I did it and determined my 10RM for each of the exercises and started the program yesterday. I'm very happy to have broken through that self-imposed barrier.

Thanks, it truly was a milestone for me! Amazing how, even at my age, I can be intimidated by something so little. I think I would have been more assertive when I was younger and fitter ...
Just had to take a deep breath and dive in, knowing that free weights were inevitable to get the results I desire. So far, so good.

Yay! Welcome to the addiction that is freeweights.
An accomplishment that sticks out in my mind is from probably 6 months ago, but it still makes me smile. I was loading up the barbell and without thinking, grabbed a 25 lb plate in each hand and loaded one on each end of the bar. When I started, loading up 25 lb plates with 2 hands was the norm (and not necessarily an easy task). A small thing, but it makes me happy.
This week: I'll be hitting all my previous 5RMs doing Madcows. Next week starts the real work-

Done my first unassisted wide grip pull-up yesterday! Woooop! Cracked chin-ups a while ago but pull-ups have always been a sticking point!

Victory: 8 dead-hang pull ups FINALLY! I've been stuck @ 7 for months now.
Goal: 10! (this will take me a while to accomplish, I have a feeling) :-)

Goal: 20! (maybe 2 weeks?)I want mature muscle.
Yes I finally started a journal.
