Right now I'm working exactly 55hours a week. Technically, that mean from Monday to Friday I work from 7am to 7pm and I got a 1 hour break lunch during the day. It's an office job.
Basically I do nothing but to work during the week. When I come back home I don't have the time nor the energy to do anything else but to eat and maybe surf the web for an hour.
And think it's sucks big time. So I can't even imagine how it's must sucks to work even more. Many miscer claim to work 70-80 hours a week (yet they still have the time to misc a ****load). Is that real life?
For example, if you work for a big four it is expected that you work 70 hours a week minimum. But unless you work also during the weekend I don't see how you can even do that. That's 15 hours more per week than what I do, so that mean an extra of 3hours of work per day.
So then my schedule would be something like-->
Monday to Friday:
*7am to 12= work
*1pm to 10pm=work
*repeat
Wtf??
If you work that much, can you tell us how do you handle it? Is it even possible to have a real family life if you work that much?

I can tell you from experience it is hard to maintain a Life.
I am actually at work at this moment crunching hard on to meet The Deadline next monday.
My outlook is 15 hour workdays non-stop until the beginning of October when all projects are done.
Now the big difference is that I work for myself so all hours I put in I get a result back directly.
Sometimes I call a friend when I am lonely and we talk for hours, usually that is my only contact for months. Training is very difficult to maintain so I got some equipment at work. Relations fail because you only see your Girls only on weekends.
It sucks but it has a plus side, I see all my hard work paying off. If I were to work sick hours for a boss I would excpect big money in return or else no go man. Do not ever work harder than good for your life for a boss, you are going to get seriously disappointed in your carreer by doing that. Work for yourself, not for the wealth of others.
Biggest danger is getting used to having no life and working too hard. Life will go by way to fast if that happens. Looking outside of the window feels like looking at a timelapse of the seasons passing by. OMG it is summer already! No time. OMG it is winter already! No time.6'6

I work about 60-70 hours a week. Only got gf no kids etc. See parents once a week or fortnight. Gym 2-3 times a week whenever I can. Before work, after work, weekend etc. About to go back to bjj 3 times a week too, Have done it for 2 years. Not ideal but will cut back to 40 in a few months.
I'm just not lazy and pack lunches everynight.

there was a time when i was averaging 85 hours a week, one week i hit over 100 hours, for over a month. But it was manual labor. The pay was awesome, the social life was non existent.
However me and my boss would go to the strip club every once in a while to chill and drink and have a few dance.
One time my boss and I were working till 1 or 2 am, we both had been there since 7 am, so he left to go to home depot and when he came back he had a 6 pack of bud. We finished up our work and then downed a few beers before going home. Good times.
I can't see sitting in an office for 80 hours a week. I think I would go crazy.Starting Weight 270

Welcome to working life man, it sucks but sometimes you have to do it. Just about anyone in the military or past military will tell you of the endless days and weeks. I put in about 90 hours a week while deployed. I work 7 days a week, start my shift at 1800 and end at 0630, every day. Get back to my bunk by 0730 after eating and wake up at 1500 later that day, hit the gym, shower, eat again, and off to work all over again. It's a painful cycle that makes most people go insane. Oh and you also gotta think, this isn't 12-13 hours sitting around in an air conditioned office, it's sweating my ass off in 100+ degrees with the most uncomfortable **** on.
The resistance that you fight physically in the gym and the resistance that you fight in life can only build a strong character.

I've never worked that much during a week in my life yet, I suppose you'd have to really like what you do OR need the job for whatever reasons to support that kind of lifestyle. A buddy of mine was an ibanker straight out of school, he started at JPMorgan and was doing 60-70 hr weeks straight out of school. He said it wore on him, but he made bank (like 200k 1st year) and eventually he'll be in similar jobs in his field that pay nearly the same, but require less time and are less stressful.
I'm working about 35 hrs a week right now at a job I really don't like and don't have a future with (just doing it to pay the bills) and it feels like I've worked 60 hrs. throughout the week, mostly because I dislike it.Fitness Journal:

too much work sucks ass, fuk that sht.
45 hours a week is about perfect. u still get 5 hours of overtime pay which still makes a big difference. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told you're a god or a total bastard. The iron always kicks you the real deal. It's the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. I have found it to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But 200 pounds is always 200 pounds.
