just rewatched the conor vs poirer fight

Conor was outtrading him in every exchange until his legs went. If they rematch I think Conor takes it. What do you think?

Unless he adjusts, adopts a new stance like he suggested he will be doing in the post fight presser he’ll get his leg chewed up every time he fights a southpaw.

Also he needs more cage time before going in with Dustin again because there was a few instances in round 1 where he had Dustin hurt which he admitted himself, and he didn’t try close or capitalise on it which is either rust or just plain disrespect for his opponents ability.

Interesting. I just watched the first fight and Dustin basically did the same thing with the kicks but they didn't affect McGregor even when they landed... The time he took off MMA to box definitely changed his stance for the worse in terms of MMA. If he can mitigate the leg kicks he's definitely winning the fight in my book

He was better when he bounced in & out & was more unpredictable with his shots. Also this is what happens when you become a superstar and dedicate your time to getting high in tree houses with retards when the other dude dedicated to the game & is in the gym grinding his dink off.

Too much talk of "MMA Boxing" and "who's the best MMA boxer" lately.
It's MMA. You get your leg chewed up or have to deal with takedowns and the dynamic is completely different.

I'll take Conor's boxing over anyone else's at 155 but Dustin and Nate have shown ways to still get the better of him on the feet.

Mendes landed some ground and pound before Conor got up and ended it on the feet (not convinced Chad's cardio was where it needed to be taking that on short notice) but other than that the Nate rematch was the only win he's had where he overcame adversity to win a fight. He probably needs to show more of that if he's gonna go on another winning streak vs the top guys at 155.

I'd favor Conor in a rematch because (and possibly any 155'er at the moment) because I think his hands are that good and I'm not sure anyone can keep him down and outgrapple him for 5rds (maybe Oliveira) but he needs to improve his defensive deficiencies and possibly be more aggressive in getting his opponents out early.

All that being said I'd love nothing more than to see Dustin go on a winning streak to close out his career, possibly culminating with the trilogy fight w/ Conor but at this point I think Dustin should fight for the belt (if not given to him outright) and Conor needs to earn the right to fight for it again.

Conor hasnt been and will not be the same after getting that huge pay day from fighting Floyd. He's a multimillionaire - so his motivation to get up and train hard with people that are gonna push him / tell him things he doesnt want to hear is not as strong as when he was trying to make a name for himself. I think he could win a rematch, but the longevity of his career is shortened because he's comfortable

    that's when he was good

    then he went full retart

he did achieve what he wanted in life (money), it was never about being a great fighter (of which he isn't vs decent opponents)

It actually looked like conor's timing and range was still there. He caught dustin a lot. But it's clear now his power doesnt translate well to 155, yeah he took out eddy and cowboy but the top guys have much better chins. I think he can come back and has a chance against dustin but let's say he fights charles olivera....that's probably a bad day for conor.

The first fight didn’t prove chit, Conor knocked him out on a flukey elbow to the back of the head.

what I noticed as well too in that fight was Conor was willing to trade getting kicked in the shin to land some punches on Dustin, he did that a few times.

from what I remember, I think the very first landed leg kick from Dustin was pretty hard and probably damaged Conor a little bit, then the damage started to accumulate there.
