Hi all!!
36years old master lifter,self-taugth,doing the sport since April 2009,best competition pb's 70kg snatch/90kg jerk.
I'm returning to training after holidays, not going over 75% max,as i'm seeing this as an oportunity to correct some major flaws.
I'm tall,so i have some issues on the correct body positioning although it has improved.
My main problems are rounding of the low back and not pulling the knees back on the first pull, which causes the bar to come a bit forward when leaving the floor.
But when i'm doing snatch pulls,it seems i'm doing it rigth??? Maybe i'm answering my own questions, but to get a better back arch i should start the snatch with higher hips??
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Helder
ps:Still not enough posts to place links, maybe someone can post the last 3 videos 17/08/10 that i posted on my account ( guima300) ??

there are others on here who are better at critiquing form than me, but what I see:
try to keep weight on your heels, looks like your over your toes a bit. Think to "rock" back to weight over heels before pulling, and think "keep the bar close"
as far as pushing knees back, think of flaring them out to the sides as well, it helps to get them out of the way (coolrabbit is a good example of this I think: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=126444843)Last edited by slowman41; 08-18-2010 at 11:21 AM.

hey,
to me it looks like you sort of push the hips in to meet the bar after it passes the knees, rather than pulling the bar more back to you... also, you're jumping back while doing this
but i also think that it's hard to tell technical flaws until you're at like 90%, that's when you really have to try to be perfect and can't just juggle the weight and make the lift even if it's not greatStronger than gravity.

Your form is not bad at all. Like David said, be more patient with your pull. Especially on the transition/thigh-brush because it will allow you to fully extend. Also, more weight on the heels would help you, like the others said.

Olympic weightlifting had made me not only stronger and quicker but also better looking and possibly more well-endowed. See what it can do for you!
