I've had two babies and was able to keep my routine pretty much the same throughout both pregnancies. It took my a little longer to snap back INTO my routine after baby #2, but it wasn't so awful. Stay positive all you pregnant ladies! You WILL get your body back.

I just want to say that the whole "keep your heart rate under 150 thing" is not true. There have been studies that have disproven it. You should of course always check with your doctor, but that information is outdated. I've had 4 children and every single time I worked out very hard and never monitored my heart rate. I was jumping rope in my 8th month. Okay, I know I'm a little crazy, but still, all of my children are very healthy and I was able to have 4 undmedicated, uncomplicated births. Do your research ladies -- don't just take what people tell you as gospel.

Eating 'clean and often' doesn't necessarily mean you are in a calorie deficit, which is required to lose weight. Too much food, clean or otherwise, means you will maintain or gain. Track your food intake using myfitnesspal or similar and you will have a better idea of whether you are in a calorie deficit or not.

I found that I could never lose the last 10 lbs while breastfeeding. I'm not sure exactly why because everyone said it supposedly helps you lose weight, but it didn't in my case. I've since spoken with other women who had the same problem. Everyone is different and your body may be like mine and just hold onto the weight until you stop nursing.
In my case, as soon as I stopped, the weight came off pretty easily. Don't get discouraged

Yes, it's an app and a website (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/). Most people simply overestimate how much they are eating. I naturally eat around maintenence which is probably what you are doing too. If you are in calorie deficit, you will lose weight. If you have a slow metabolism then it means you may need to monitor your diet even more closely. If you keep doing what you are doing then you'll get what you've always got. If your current approach isn't working then you may need to be open to trying something different.

Did you continue to squat and deadlift while pregnant?
I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant with my first baby!
I have continued to squat and deadlift just the bar thus far. Wondering if you ladies have done the same? I have been reading conflicting information on the safety of this topic. I originally had mentioned to my OB/GYN that I had been lifting heavy weights pre-pregnancy and she seemed to think that 50lbs should be fine. Now that I'm thinking of it, I wonder if any OB is truely familiar with what the exercises are. Thoughts??

I had trouble with my hair after my baby was born because I am hypothyroid and my levels were way out of whack, which caused me to lose a good amount of hair. I take biotin to help with this -- my hairdresser and endocrinologist both recommended it and my hair is growing back in very well. If you can't find biotin by itself, there are hair, skin, nail vitamins you can buy that have it in them.

breastfed both of my kids till almost 2 yrs old. Youngest is 2 1/2 now.. i stopped but he still reaches to drink lol.. u will always be hungry bc ur body needs to provide nutrition. I did find breastfeeding helped me lose some weight but yes i was always hungry. I learned that ur body does change to compensate and provide nutrition so that may be why, but we're all different. At that time I did hiit cardio for 20 min to burn fat 2 or 3x a week and ate the same, didnt do any caloric deficit"Yesterday is history, Tomorrow a Mystery, but today, Today is a gift, that's why it's called the Present"

How long did you ladies bench while pregnant? I am 25 weeks (6 months) and still benching - 10-12 reps, light enough that I don't have to stop breathing and I don't use my core at all, I'm down for no longer than 1 minute. Keep hearing about this vein compression but so far it hasn't bothered me so I am still going until my body tells me its no longer safe. Although I look a little funny laying there with this big ole belly sticking up, ha.

How many calories are you adding for breastfeeding?
My son is 9 months old and still nurses pretty often. I have lost 80lbs since he was born by doing cardio mostly, and some light resistance training. This week I started bodybeast, and I have been STARVING. I was eating about 2300 calories (I'm 5'6" and 145ish) but I feel like I need to eat more now. I don't know if that's a bad idea? If I eat an extra 200? My CIM is around 2050, so if I add 300 for bfing and like 150 for my workouts, should that be about right? I do have a bit more fat to lose, but I was thinking I could cut back to around 2000 during my cutting (beast) phase in the last 4 weeks of the program. I'm just scared I'm going to put on fat... But I also don't want to lose any muscle! I hate how vague bfing calories are! What are you all doing?
