Sweating like a mofo on keto

Hey im on day 8 of keto and i do 20minutes of cardio every work out and i have noticed that i sweat soooo much, it almost looks like i have had a shower. My bpm is around 140-150. Is this a sign of being in ketosis and does anyone else experience this?

I definitely sweat more on Keto than I did on low fat diets - I am not sure why but by the time my workouts are done my shirt is drenched. I know I am in ketosis, and the first few days I tested with the stix, but I don't know if that extra sweat is a universal sign of being in ketosis, but if anything take comfort in knowing I sweat a lot more too, lol.

some people just sweat more than others.
I had a friend back in the day, that would drip sweat just popping the hood on a car.
maybe lack of carbs makes you sweat more, I dont know.
personally I dont sweat much at all. I have to wear a foam rubber belt around my waist on the treadmill to make me sweat.
Maybe Metabolism has something to do with it too?? Are you really only 150lbs at 6'1? Im guessing turbo Metabolism on you.

Might just be another way your body is ridding itself of excess water when entering ketosis(pissing being the other). Are you using EC stack by chance?

in my opinon at your height and weight, I wouldnt worry about dieting down right now.
I think youre better off trying to put on some lean mass.
I have a buddy thats youre exact height, weighs about 165, lower body fat % and he is a rail. He doesnt eat enough is his problem.
I think youre in the same situation right now. Your weight is pretty low in my opinion, and I think youre probably starving your body a bit.
Youre also in your teens, and eating only 2k cals. Im no nutrionist by any means, but this doesnt seem right to me at all.

I've been experiencing the same. I'll be sitting on the couch at night and for no reason just start purging sweat. I like to think of it as my body throwing more fat/fuel in the fire so to speak.

Yeah i agree with you, but imma stick this out until Augest 19th and re evaluate where i am, because i really want to lose this flab and i cant stand having it while im stuffing my face to bulk, so imma stick with this until the 4 weeks is up and see where i am and then start bulking

noted, but try to keep in mind that not eating enough will stall your fat loss, and may wind up causing loss of more lean mass as well.

By the way 13% BF if that is accurate (meaning you been tested) isnt very high, so I wouldnt call you fat by any means.
I think most normal everyday people average around 16-22%

I would think at you age and height it should be higher.
Im doing 2500+ a day right now and that may not be enough for me at 36.

I think I would like to see you eat a bit more.
Dont even worry if you start eating more and scale goes up some cause its probably not fat weight. I highly suspect that you been starving your body, but like I said Im no expert or nutrionist. Can only give my opinion from my experience and knowledge.

I am not going to tell you what you need to do because you are going to make the final decision regardless. However, I personally feel that at your height 10-15 more pounds would do you well. 2000 calories is not enough and I understand you want to cut up. I think for people who are leaner it is imperative that you eat more calories (that is the best thing about being lean already). You can EAT lol. For those who are overweight and have a lot of weight to lose I think 2000 calories a day will work best for them. I understand you want results. I think some of the good advice from other posters that have already been suggested would do you well. I think it is good that you are keto bulking. I wouldn’t even count calories if I were you. I would just follow the low carb, mid protein, and high fat. Lift hard and add some cardio. Then in a month or 2 re-evaluate and I bet you will be happy with your results.

Yeah thanks a lot for the post man, but i started out as a really fat kid and then a grew tall and i still have this last fat roll that has been making my life miserable, i want to be able to take my shirt off and show off my body that i have been working my ass off to get and i look pretty good with a shirt off its just this last little pooch belly, and for my goals i think 2000cals is good because im going for the cam gigandet look because we have very similar body types and he weighs only about 160-165 and is my hieght. And the thing is about bodybuilding.com is that there are to many guys on here and all most of them say is bulk bulk bulk bulk, but they dont really understand peoples goals are and how some peoples bodies react to excess calories and where they are stored and such

no one is saying you have to bulk. Trying to explain about how to lose fat when you dont have much left. If you dont eat enough, youre not going to lose fat. That guy you wanna look like also is very lean, and has more solid muscle. You cant expect a ripped muscular look when you dont have the muslce there. That guy probably only has about 7-10lbs of body fat maybe on him going by pics Ive seen. You at a lower body weight have probably over 20lbs of fat going by what you said your BF% is currently.
I understood your goal of shedding last bit of fat, but I was trying to get you understand how the body will try and hold on to that fat you have left if you dont eat enough, and it may wind up costing you more lean mass. So yes your weight may go down, but your Body fat very well may not if you dont eat right. that is just a set back for you since what you want is that fat pouch gone.
Its all up to you though, we are all just trying to educate, and help each other reach our goals and stay healthy along the way.

I was wondering the same thing. I've noticed that I sweat A LOT more when I'm working out and I'm in ketosis than when I'm not.

But on the flip side, I've also noticed that I workout HARDER when I'm in Ketosis so I know that has a lot to do with it.
Push yourself as far as you possibly can, and just when you've pushed yourself to your limits, you push it just a little bit more.

Same here. A workout that usually takes me 90 minutes to get through I do in about 60 while in Ketosis. My recovery time between sets is so much faster. It's great.

I sweat alot more on keto too. It's because no carbs, you body has no reason to hold onto the water really, except maybe sodium.

how much fat, protein, carbs do you eat? don't worry about calories. On keto you should be around 140-160g of fat and probably 60-90g protein and no more than 25 carbs a day. How do you know your in ketosis? do you use KetoMojo? urine strips? I recommend using keto mojo even though the strips are kinda expensive, around 2bux a strip, checking ketones via blood is best way to go. Visceral fat is that pooch belly it is also the most dangerous fat, because it surrounds your organs, especially your liver and it leads to all kinds of problems if you don't get rid of it early on. Remember that resistance training is the best way to go. The more muscle you have the more fat it will burn. Remember that when your on keto diet (its really a way of life I hate to call it a diet) your body uses the fat for energy and the by product of burned fat is ketones, which the brain loves to utilize, since it can only use ketones and glucose for energy.

I experienced the same thing when I started keto awhile back. Every time I ate a good fatty meal about 10mins afterwards I would start sweating, like someone turned on a furnace (the fat burning furnace).

I also sweat more than before in my spin class. Same workout, but I do feel stronger than before kepo, and also stinkier! lol

Considering my breakfast is 1100 cals, this may be a little low. But all my food I take in is in a 6 hour period because of my meds

A ketogenic diet is a diuretic by nature due to lack of carbs and ketones acting as a mild diuretic.

Try taking in some salt pre workout or just adding some more throughout the day of you aren't currently.

Apparently, low insulin makes white adipose tissue (storage fat) take the role of brown adipose tissue (heat generation fat).

You should be sweating more since you're lacking carbs. One gram of carbs holds 2-3 grams of water, no carbs means less water retention, where does that water go? Piss and sweat.

A Ketogenic Diet Increases Brown Adipose Tissue Mitochondrial Proteins and UCP1 Levels in Mice

Mitochondria is where the fuel is burned. It has two routes: 1) coupled, produces heat and chemical energy; 2) uncoupled, produces heat only.

    UCP1 (from wiki)
Thermogenin (called uncoupling protein by its discoverers and now known as uncoupling protein 1, or UCP1)[5] is an uncoupling protein found in the mitochondria of brown adipose tissue (BAT). It is used to generate heat by non-shivering thermogenesis, and makes a quantitatively important contribution to countering heat loss in neonates which would otherwise occur due to their high surface area-volume ratio.
