    Last run for jock

Well hello there old friends. Been over year now since I've been active on here. Ive received a number of pms asking where the hell I disappeared to ha. 2010 has been wildly insane for me thus far and is sure to only get more interesting. To make a long story short I am leaving for the army at the end of September. I didn't realize how long it was going to take for me to leave for bootcamp so I couldn't think of anything I'd rather do with this extra time than prep for 2 last shows.

I am currently 2&4 weeks out from what will be my last 2 shows for quite some time. Both are right here in nj which I surprisingly have never competed in since it's my home state heh. First will be the muscle beach classic which is Jason Artnz's show and 2nd will be the NJ Open.

Just wanted to share a few pics from tonight and a week ago. Been trying so hard to work on my contioning which has been my glaring weak point over the years. Hoping to head in to the service with some positive memories from this season

This one is a week ago

Whomp!! Lookin shredded in the avy man! Thanks bro, I finally was able to stick with one diet strategy with no flipping back and forth like the last couple years so I think it helped. Time will tell if it was enough to earn a victory.

Just wanted to add in that I went strictly with carb cycling this season on a 17 week plan. Ideally I would have went about 20 weeks but I decided to compete only after I found out I would have time before I leave for bootcamp. Also I needed to leave myself at the very least a month for proper PCT so 17 1/2 weeks was the very longest I could give myself to prep.

Went with my normal low intensity, long duration cardio and as of this past Friday I'm maxed out at 2 separate 1 hour sessions.

Looking to post pics during my carb up and once i get rid of this damn body hair lol.

ammunition specialist. Ive done my best to find out from other service members on various forums how much training, eating time ill have etc. So far it's sounding pretty good although I'll be losing a good deal of mass no matter what. But that won't deter me from working my hardest in the gym

Pic from early this morning after cardio and directly after 1st meal with 50g of carbs from oatmeal. Plenty of water downed during cardio. Not thrilled but I think I can make some progress with another week of double 1 hour session cardio right up until carb load time. All critique is welcomed and appreciated.

I am doing my first powerlifting meet in 9 days, then who knows. I don't plan to get on stage again until I am thicker than a frozen milkshake. Most likely get on stage the end of 2011 or wait until 2012. My goal right now is to get strong, then turn that strength into muscle, then turn that muscle into Pro Victories.

Good luck in the service, I always hear about the bodybuilding contests within the branches so make sure to look into that!

wow that's big dude, good luck in that meet. I also think powerlifting is great for adding mass so good stuff.

Yea I've heard a good amount about military bodybuilding shows as well so you know I'm looking forward to taking my NPC experience into a couple of those haha.

    Friends,

Early this morning my father suffered from a heart attack. He survived and is in stable condition and I am currently with him in the hospital.

I regret to inform that the shows I have picked out this year are not nearly important enough to me to cost me any additional time away from my father during this very tough time. Especially with me leaving for the army so soon.

Thank you all for your support and I wish you all the best of luck with your 2010 bodybuilding goals.

Life throws us curve balls....so you have to take care of what is most important. I'm glad that your father is in stable condition. Prayers will be going out to him.

Hmm Im not really sure what that is but it almost sounds like an Armor. So now it just depends if you get attached to a support unit or an infantry unit. In a support unit the regular duty day is 9-5 with an half and a half lunch. PT usually between 6-7.

Infantry = not the one you want.

So hopefully you will go to a support unit so you can keep up with your hobby *I* am an "electronics technician" which is a support MOS ( females cant do anything but) and I am okay with that Good luck!

Oh yeah.. and you may lose some mass in BCT, Im sure you will because you cant really get enough calories unless you can eat really fast ( like its whatever you can shovel in, in 2-5 mins, one time at breakfast we got 30 seconds from the time the last person sat down ( sucked to be that guy) anyway. When you get to AIT, there will be gyms for you to use. So 10 weeks is all you have to worry about, and we did have weights in our barracks at basic, though Im sure not heavy enough for you

PS Just finished the thread.. Sorry about your father and Im glad he is stable. Nice check on your priorities.
