Hi all. I'm 34 (35 in less than a month!) from the hot humid state of South Carolina. I decided to create this journal to help record my progress on doing 1 million pushups. I started this journey on Jan. 1, 2008 so I've been at it for two and a half years now.
The first two years were really bad, only doing 9214 in '08 and 2296 in '09 for a total of 11510. This third year has been much better, totalling 18,110 so far this year for a grand total of 28820. This year monthly breakdown is as follows:
Jan - 5485
Feb - 1035
Mar - 1020
Apr - 280
May - 1455
Jun - 5025
Jul - 3010
My goal for this year is to do at least 30,000 and then try for at leat 50,000 the following year. Most of these pushups are done while at the gym while the rest are done at home and I sneak in a few at work from time to time.
Apart from my main goal of 1,000,000 pushups, I have a secondary goal of seeing how many pushups I can do in a 24hr period, which of course I don't try for often.. the most being 1,005.

June 21 - 240 pushups
Total - 29195
Will probably take this day to rest and then back at it Friday, which I'll be taking tomorrow off from work to get the car serviced and run some errands so I'll have plenty of time to do a few here and there. Would like to hit the 30K mark before the end of the weekend.
Will update count on Monday.

June 24 - 160 pushups
Total - 29355
Weekend was busier than anticipated. Wife and I went to the hospital Saturday to visit an aunt with cancer, which took up a good portion of the day. Sunday had church, went out for lunch, attended a funeral, went back to church early for young adult practice, then evening church service.
Sometimes it's good to be back at work just to have a break lol.

No I go to the gym about 4 days a week between 1 to 1-1/2 hrs each visit. I do a little bit of everything.. not at one visit but rotate. I'll throw a set or two of pushups in between changes from one weight routine to the next. Then when I have about 20 mins left I'll go into the aerobic room, and alternate between pushups and some cardio that I do in there.
