Thinking about starting this high rep bench program. Used to lows reps so I thought this would be fun to try. Gonna start it this afternoon I think.

For all intents and purposes I would strongly discourage a high rep program when one is attempting to increase their maximum for a particular lift, until I read:
Since you said you are used to and perhaps plateauing using lower reps, it stands to reason that one could stimulate new muscle growth by utilizing a higher rep program to shock the muscles. Keep us posted and let us know how this works for increasing your max for sure.
....on a side note, I got completely hammer-smashed at my boy's 30th last night, and have been completely useless all day. Should be fully recovered by tomorrow to continue training like a machine.
...aaaannd...it's been entirely too quiet in here; we gotta start pumping up the motivation in this beotch=)__________________________________________________________________

Damn. You're making that 295 look like cake. That letting the weight just chill on your chest says it all: you can rep that all day. I would wager that if you had a spotter and really wanted to, you could probably hit that sh** for 6-8 reps. No lie. Great vid, and great lifts.

Im also in on this!
Personal best is about 320-330 @165 18 months ago... but not with good form...
First aim now is 315 with good form!
Then 2 times body weight with pause on chest...
Did 275 with pause a couple of weeks ago...
Today was my best benchday in over a year! (had some shoulder problems since last autumn so...)
Today I did first Bench PR in 18 months....
2 sets of 12x225 , got the second on film... and 2x265-270 (120kg)
Bench Press: 2x315
Deadlift: 405
Squats: 290

Great, glad to have you join! We gotta revive this thread; its been kinda dead lately which breaks my heart cuz I'm all about it. Hitting double your bodyweight is stellar. I've never done it...but some day. You should get to 315 right quick; muscle memory is a son of a gun. Great lifts in the vid. Those dumbbells are the most gigantic looking dumbbells I have ever seen...practically benching atc tires on each side!
So I hit week three of German volume training today, and the workout looked like-
9 sets of 3 reps @245 ...had some energy to burn out on the last one so...
1 set of 12 @245
4 sets cable flyes of 12 @ 65
4 sets of pec deck 160x12, 180x12, 180x10, 220x10
4 sets of incline machine press 140x12,14,14,12
The first ten are all that really matter to me right now; trying to really focus on increasing strength on bench. Getting notably stronger each week so far__________________________________________________________________

Ive hit double my body weight a couple of times , 150kg @ 75 (330/165) and 295 and 300 @145.
Yeah, hoping to be able to do 5x5x245 next week... and 5x5x270 before next summer!
another goal for the winter is 15x225
315 @ 155 is the main goal for now! If Im going to lift 405, I probably have to gain at least 20lbs so itll take a couple of years probably, (if ever)!
The dumbbells are HUGE! The red weights are normal 5kg weights about 11inches in size, so they are really difficult to use! In the video I have 90lbs and 100lbs.... Good thing is that we can use the plates on the barbell as well!
Youre 12x245 is impressive!Bench Press: 2x315
Deadlift: 405
Squats: 290

Thank you. I've actually only seen one person hit double their bodyweight in my life. A filipino cat in my high school back in the day hit 225@105 bodyweight. That sh** is impressive; something for me to shoot for in the future. When somebody can do that, it pretty much means they hold the Trump card in the strength department.

I still dont count my lifts as qualified double body weight lifts... My ass was off the bench back then... On a Raw competition 2 years ago I lifted 130kg @ 69,45kg bw with pause...(285-290 @ 153)

Now Im Aiming for double body weight with pause!

Awesome vid. That had to be hella fun. I think it's fun just for all the eyes I can get on me in the gym...but an actual competition where everyone's eyes are supposed to be on you to begin with...that's motivation.
Yay UofACATS is back! Looks like your strength is coming up still as well man.__________________________________________________________________

Horizontal push/pull & abs (5:45 PM - 7:15 PM):
Bench press: 45x20, 135x8, 185x5, 205x1, 225x1 (paused), 237.5x1 (touch and go), 255x1 (touch and go; no bounce; hitched), 205x5 (2 second pause)
Incline DB press: 65x5, 75x4, 85x1 (weight PR - previous PR is 80x4)
Supinated Pendlay rows: 135x8, 185x6, 225x5
Cheat BB rows: 225x10
DB rows: 125x17
My left hand was really bothering me today. I still have a giant bruise on my left palm from the 945-pound hand-and-thigh lifts, which prevented me from gripping as well as I could've. Right side form was pretty good for every rep.

I have never done them that way before, ever. I saw some guys doing them and then remembered you, and figured I would give them a shot. I really liked them, because it made cheating a lot harder and also took a lot of pressure off my lower back/hamstrings/glutes.
It was kinda neat doing them with a supinated grip. I don't work my biceps regularly, so adding these in will be a good "functional strength" exercise for my biceps.Training, philosophy, nutrition and biomedical discussion (2.0): http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=146797403

Was beginning to think you quit bench pressing before this post...it had been a while. Great job on the new PR there. You really give it 100% in your vids man; good sh**. And lol at your cameraman's commentary__________________________________________________________________

I was undergoing an overhead press obsession, though... I might've forgotten to post a bench workout though. :/
