On that greatest mathematician ever question, I would be remiss if I didn’t add Riemann to that standard list I had in my post above. A lot of people know him because of the conjecture in number theory, but he had a lot of fundamental contributions in analysis and geometry- some that play an important role in general relativity, which describes the system of the world in modern physics.
