Who could the Republicans nominate for 2012?

Obviously not Sarah Palin, that'd just be giving Obama the election. Ron Paul? I doubt it.

I know it won't happen, but I'd love Paul Ryan or Jim DeMint to be on the ticket.

But, knowing how bad the republican leadership is now, it'll be Jindal, Romney, or Palin.

Probably be Romney or Palin. Epic fail. The party leadership hates Ron Paul. I would vote for Obama before Palin.

I wouldn't discount the possibility of someone coming out of the private sector to run for president. I think the Republican base would eat it up.

They'll put up an unknown out of nowhere candidate since we all know these old school Repubs from the past just can't work. Romney will probably still try for it though.

I'd vote for him, if it wasn't for the constitution, or the fact that he would never make it out of a GOP primary.

It's going to be Romney, which shouldn't be to hard a task for Obama.

Maybe... I like our new governor in NJ thus far, I'd vote for him for pres. Not aware of any othe Republicans that would cut it, and have a chance to win.

I'll be voting third party again.

Unless it actually is Palin on the R ticket. I WILL hold my nose and vote for Obama if she's his opponent.

If Palin is elected, I'm out.

The American people will get what they deserve. I will not live in a country run by someone who thinks it's her duty to serve as a holy warrior in the coming apocalypse, who also has the power to end all life on the planet.

Maybe Australia? That's kind of out of the way. Switzerland would be nice, being neutral and more economically free than the USA, but if she starts a world war, nuclear fallout might still cause issues.

I like that guy. One of the few Republicans I like. Also helps that he is charismatic and will not instantly inspire hatred in the rest of the world.

Edit: I have a serious problem with his "hard on drugs" stance.

Not really. No one in the Tea party would vote for Obama. They need someone who will appeal to people who voted for Obama in the last election and are not happy.

I would like to see a legit third party. But i know that wont happen.

For republicans, (save Ron Paul) Paul Ryan seems like a decent candidate. I like how he took Obama to task on Healthcare reform.

What I mean is that since they are a large part of the conservative republican base then they'll want someone who appeals to them and by appeal I mean in language. Just look at some of the primaries they spew BS to win the primary and then when they have to go to the general they are like, "well...what I meant..."

No way on Ron Paul. Make him a financial advisor, but don't put him in an executive role.

I like Newt, and I like Paul Ryan, I don't mind Romney. I think anyone is going to have a good chance against Obama.

Hopefully not Palin. If the GOP controlled the House/Senate -- I'd rather have Obama than her (although, if the Dems were in control, I'd vote for her over him).

I like Paul Ryan. Not sure if he's ready, though.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
