I have decided to start a new journal - I feel as though things have changed a lot since my previous one, plus a new start is always nice... is it possible for a journal to have baggage?
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Karina, I'm 26 and live in Alberta, Canada. I started lifting in the fall of 2007 after completing a marathon. I have been as high as 130# (prior to lifting) and to a low of 101#. While I haven't stopped working out since then, I feel that in the past year I haven't worked as hard as I could've. I want to step it up a level (or three!) and really challenge myself in terms of intensity, consistency and focus. No excuses.
Physically, my goals are to lean out and then maintain for a while. I also have other goals: bench 125# (currently can't quite bench my body weight), deadlift > 155# (my previous max), do 12 consecutive wide grip pullups (currently around 5) and work on my pushups! I have been messing around with handstand pushups and can only do a couple - I'd like to raise this number as well as being able to do 1-arm pushups. Some of thse may sound funny, but it adds more fun to my training!
Stats:
5'0", 110lbs
--The program I will be following is an upper/lower split with a day for interval cardio in the middle. So, I'll be training 5 days per week and taking the weekends "off" -- although I love leisurely Saturdays at the gym, so I might just end up there anyway.
--The diet will involve carb cycling which I have found to work really well for me in the past. Three days of low-carb followed by one high-carb day. I will post my nutrition each day for accountability.
OF COURSE, I am open to any and all suggestions/feedback/advice/criticism. This is a learning process, and while I feel I have learned a lot over the past few years, I am always looking to learn more.
Let's get this started!!! I'll update later tonight with a workout!

ohhh, i love the title!
'Cause sometimes you just feel tired, you feel weak
And when you feel weak you feel like you want to just give up
But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength
And just pull that *** out of you and get motivation to not give up
And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you want to just fall flat on your face and collapse.

I'm back!!! Thanks so much to EVERYONE who subbed... I really appreciate the support.
Great session tonight... for the most part! However, I'm very annoyed with myself because it could've been so much better if I did a proper warmup. Instead, I grabbed THE 17.5ers, jumped right into the bulgarians and immediately felt a 'twinge' in my hip... and not a good twinge... I had to be a bit careful for the rest of the workout because some movements were painful, but others were no prob. However, I feel like a total loser! I should've known better I'm doing some major stretching now and hopefully by tomorrow this is a non-issue.
Tomorrow is an early a.m. workout since my sister is coming with me.... should be fun!

At least I'm in on the first page!!!!!!
Off to your ninja-like ways I see with the new journal.
But also...with superhuman ninja strength. I was thinking the other day that between you stealthy qualities, your absolutely sinister scheming ability and deceptive strength that if I ever require a squadron of individuals for revenge, global takeovers, a run to Starbucks (I'm tired and I want coffee..it made sense in my head) that I would fashion them after you.
Besides, you'll be rocking out BSS with 40s in no time. I have a feeling. No excuses, just performance...

Good food and good workout. Be careful tho ! Warming up is important. I have no patience for it either, but it really is essential. ..and so we learn...
Hey, I'd like to say that I also like SexyBack's new avi. You look good. Not like Cher! Cher hasn't come out of her crypt for a while now. But let's just let that one die...
Happy Thursday!...
