Today is an off day but will be headed up to gym to hit some cardio and abs.
Ran some errands this morning. Went up to VS to talk some business and will be going up there for a few hours next weekend.

OK so I've received a few questions and I made sure it was ok to post them up in my journal for others to see and if anyone else has questions, I'll answer once or twice a week. It can be about me, my training, supplements, business, whatever... Just email them to me at john@XFMuscle.com
I won't start doing video Q&A until prep starts
1. What made me do a contest:
I've been training bodybuilding style for about five years. I went from 175 to my heaviest weight of 258.. But about 11 months ago, I fell off the ship and I didn't train at all for about 4-5 months. Didn't eat right at all and just fell off. But I'm almost glad I did cause I'm more focused than ever... But to get to the question.... Doing a show was a way for me to get back into the gym and work for something. Work toward something. So it gives me something to work towards. I always have to have goals in life. That doesn't mean I'm scared shi*tless about doing it.. I always think about what would I look like if I didn't take those months off. But there is a plan and a reason for everything. So we'll see...
2. What supplements are you taking right now.
Right now I take the following
Activate Xtreme (New Formula) and Triazole... This was given to me from Matt (DS) for me to test out... Loving it so far.
Orange Triad
White Flood or Vengenance.
XF Whey Choc PB or Lemonade
ICE by XF
sometimes if I'm in a crunch I use Ultra Peptide 2.0 for a protein/fat meal
3. What's it like having a trainer/coach for a contest prep and he doesn't live near you...
This is actually a really good question cause I get this asked a lot in my gym.
It isn't actually bad at all as long as there is great communication.. Right now I'm so far out from contest that Ryan and I don't have to talk every day but we do talk about every three days if not every other.. Right now we are just seeing how I respond to my current diet and training... But another reason I like having a coach is so I don't have to think... I've heard some people say, Ahhh you should do it alone the first time.. blah blah blah.. Having a long career in sports and always having coaches.... Your coaches don't do it for you... Your coaches can tell you what to do but they can't make you what needs to be done. My coach would always tell me, hit that screen or take that angle to hit the jumper.. Increase your dribble jumpshot... But how do you respond to that during the big game(or stepping on stage).. It's those hours you put into the gym.. Day in and day out that produces results.. You can have the greatest coach/trainer in the world but it doesn't mean **** if you don't put in the work.. ON YOUR OWN
Like I said before, please shoot me your questions on here or rather have them in my email (john@XFmuscle.com)

I think that's awesome...didn't post this earlier but I should have-his thoughts made me realize that the reason I'm not progressing the way I'd like is because I don't have a defined goal-but THAT is my goal this week, to set a goal for myself AND stick to it. Thanks J

This just made my day... Serious.. I'm glad I can do anything to help get work done
Let me know if you get in on it and i'll follow for sure!
exactly.. Gotta have a goal. This is the main reason I was so good at sports (basketball)
Set goals each step of the way. Small goals leading to one large one. Take steps to get there. I have a goal before contest prep even starts.. Then when prep starts, it will be another goal...

Its the truth...kind of like a me vs me mentality and giving yourself somethin to strive for; its a very cool mentality that I'm glad you show on these boards. And I'll hit you up when I get a journal/log up for it.
Also I Solution what you did here
