Weird electrical feeling doing bicep curl

Lately I have been getting a weird feeling when doing dumbbell bicep curls. It feels like an electrical impulse that starts from my bicep and shoots down my forearm to my hand. It is stronger during my first set which is a light warm up and gradually subsides with each additional set I do. It also only happens on my left arm. I know I am sufficiently rested and can't seem to find anything online about this particular sensation. Anyone else have this or know what causes it?

    Thanks.

More than likely, you have some type of impingement of your musculocutaenous nerve.

Have you noticed any type of strength reduction in that arm?

Same thing but I only felt it on the first set. It went away on its own after 3 months but my progress stalled during those 3 months

might u be confusing that "electrical impulse" with a lactic acid pump?

My theory is that the pump and the contraction stops the blood flow creating the shock. Just like bending a hose to stop the water from pouring. Idk, but it’s happened to me when I was curling, didn’t happen when I switched to hammers to stop the shock from reoccurring.

Aside from the obvious, this is an 8 year old thread. Blood flow would have nothing to do with a "shock" feeling. That would be nerve related.

Not a medical professional here but i will concur that an electrical type feeling is usually nerve related.
See a chiropractor or doctor if you concerned.
