It would be stupid of them to let him. He won't be very good with a broken arm, depending on where exactly the break is, and what type, etc. He should just let it be.

F that, it's his last chance to play in the World Cup, if they think he can play then he should get out there and give it a go. If NFL lineman can play with with a broken arm I think Drogba can manage to play some soccer. They don't play til the 15th he's still got 9 days.

That's not the point, he potentially could play, but he wouldn't be good, there's a lot of difference playing in the NFL, and getting a rest and that, with running around none-stop for 45 minutes each way at football. I know it takes guts to do it in the NFL, but have you ever tried to run without using your arms? It's ****.

Yeah I ran track/cross country in high school, I've heard dislocated elbow/broken bone near the elbow/fracture etc I don't exactly what is wrong. If he's got a full arm cast that's going to be a bitch because his arm won't be able to move at the elbow, I guess it depends on where the cast is.

And I wasn't trying to get into a NFL vs. soccer debate, because I like NFL more, it's just you can get away with playing through pain, in the case of a linebacker coming into to rush the passer for a few plays a game, but I just think Drogba would lose a lot of what makes him good if he has to play in a cast in a lot of pain.

I've never had a broken arm/anything before so I have no idea how much it hurts, but after nearly two weeks I'd imagine he would be able to play without much of an issue pain wise. At least all the kids I've seen with broken arms, etc never complained about it hurting. Just that it itched a lot...lol. Pop some painkillers and club some fools for 90 minutes.

I broke my 5th metatarsal (outside bone in the foot, Jones Fracture) trying out for college soccer team here in the states. I ran on it for 2 hours, through excruciating pain whenever i planted on it.... I still finished the tryout.

This dude should be able to play with a broken elbow. Soccer is a crazy stamina sport, but there definitely are lulls in the game when you can walk, jog lightly. You only go into full sprints maybe 15-20 times a game... especially a striker, he doesn't do much of anything when the team is on defense, besides pacing around the center.
