I moved my journal to the powerlifting section, so I'm not sure if subscribers got kicked off.

    It's now here: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=124257001

    Anyhow...

    Meet results:

    Deadlift:

    435x1
Beltless. NY state age/weight record +5 pounds.

    485x0
Screwed this up. It came off the ground, but my form was off. Dropped it. The problem was mainly breathing, and not doing my first lift or warmup sets with a belt. When I put the belt on for this set, I wasn't mentally prepared.

    485x1
Flew up like nothing. Super light. NY state age/weight record +55 lb.

    501.6x0
Got up to my knees. Really disappointed in this one, for a few reasons. First of all, the first 485x0 attempt took a bit out of me. Secondly, I gripped higher than I usually do and didn't keep the weight on my fingers. By holding it on my palms, I had an extra inch or so deficit. I have a feeling that it would've made it all the way had I gripped like I usually do. Oh well.

    The federation I competed in:

National would be nice! Maybe if powerlifting goes well over the next few years, I'll switch my gears for olympic lifting and aim for something amazing by the time I'm in my mid-20s.

The grip really is a big difference when 1% or 2% at that weight is absolutely game-breaking. Those flat deadlift slippers help immensely.

Ever wonder where you'd be, if you had started lifting early, at the age of 12?

Finally back at it.. Been sick for over two weeks.. Feels bad man.. Lost over 8 pound because I couldnt keep food down..

So first day back I WANT to Deadlift.. Everything feels so damn heave today to.. But pushed through and worked the hardest I ever have.. Sweating and getting a little light headed on my last single/and last two sets.. Almost didnt get number 10 up and sumbled on number 8 taking 2 steps back - kinda scared me LOL

    Ended up with

    135 x 5
    225 x 5
315 x singles(10) OMG this was ao flipping hard. By 4 I wanted to stop LOL
    225 x 5
    135 x 10

Had to do my sets in the corner .. Grabed a spare bar and went to town since our racks were full of people doing who knows what but they really didnt need to be there for whatever they where doing.. ? end rant

    Today I worked
    Flat Bench
    Pullups wide 10/5/5/5/5/5
    Seated row
    Seated cable fly
    Seated cable lat pull downs
    Deadlifts

Tomorrow - Legs/shoulders woot woot.. Cant wait.. So happy to be back at it.

    Ben
    Current/Goal(May28th-birthday)
    Bench - 215x1/225x1
    Dead - 405x1/405x1 CHECK :)
    Squat - 255x1/275x1

    Hello gents.

sad story you can skip: I know I've been AWOL. Long story short I was in a car accident 1.5 years ago and keep re-injuring my neck. So, I've been out of the gym for awhile. I was not able to do much, let alone toss around some weights. sad story you can skip over.

I hit the gym again today, and I'm pleased to announce I have a new PR.

    135x5
    225x5
    275x1
315x5 - planned to stop here, didn't bring camera
    335x1
    365x1 - previous pr
    385x1 - PR

Also did: Rows, static holds and (gasp) biceps haha..

    405 YOU ARE MINE

Ya it sucked bad.. Missed the gym but 1) I could barely make it through the day -- 2) cant get everyone else sick.. But I would come on here, read and would wish I was at the gym

nice pull music, i am surprised the record was so low. i got my 500 when i was still 17, wish i had competed then, FFFFFUuuuuuuuuu

anyways last time i deadlifted for a workout was aug 12, deloaded on aug 22.
had some srs adrenal fatigue, i couldnt even pull 545 that week.
started smolov 3 weeks ago, im on the switching phase next week.

nothing but squats squats squats. might be testing deadlift this week to see where its at.
completed all of these, im on week 4 now (rest), not shown in the pic.

I was wondering where you went to vsvs. The Smolov bug seems to be goin around lol. Me and music just started it last week.

Did you use your actual max? How was the base cycle in terms of difficulty? Any tips?
