    Carbs

    Hey guys, I have had a thought in the back of my head for a while now and I want to get it sorted out.

    I'm on a cut, should I be stressing over the amount of carbs I get per day? I try to keep 40p/40c/20f but sometimes I wander off, with my carbs going up to 50-60%. Should I buckle down?

    You should buckle down and just make sure you get suffient protein and fat into yourself. Then fill the rest of your macro's with carbs. Dont go by the 40 40 20 rule.

    Make sure you have 1g protein per pound of lbm and for fat try to eat around 70-90 grams. The rest of your calories can be made up of carbs. But dont let your protein and fat slide.

    I kindly disagree. Depending on the OP's goals, higher carb diet may not be a bad thing for fat loss if calories are still in check.That said, I would not exactly say 60% carbs would be good on a cut because it would be hard to get adequate protein in a caloric deficit. 45-50 would be more than fine though.

    On a cut you want to be closer to 1.5xBW grams of proteiin. .4-.5gxBW of fat and the rest carbs.

    I agree, CAV40. According to staged, my new ratio would be 26% carbs. Seems too low, even on a cut.

    Last2WalK's advice seems a bit more sound. My ratios come out to 32p/36f/32c.

    I have a feeling I'm going to have to spend a bit more time in forum just reading through. I have a lot to learn!
