Official ov35 Deadlift Competition

It is all fair it is an open comp. It would be motivatonal to see people pull big weights. Some of us may even surprise ourselves. I pulled 550 years ago. If I can get back to that and keep from gaining a ton of weight I will do allright.

we dont have to have every weight class but heres an example so that you could have multiple winners juist something for you to think about STEVE

1st group up to 175 #
176 - 210
211- 240
241 and over

Hmmm...I wonder if I can make it to 176# so I don't have to compete against Steve and Carl.

I just want to be respectable and be motivated to get after it. I'm still considering a novice DL comp in Sept. if I can get under 148# and pull at least 400#.

I haven't tried to lift anything that I doubted I could pull for 3 reps in over 2 years. I got some catching up to do. 285# tomorrow. No kidding.

Allright then ill just be the judge and count me out but ill still put up a few vids of my next couple comps.It doesnt seem fair since i have competed a couple times already..Anyway at my first comp last August there was a 57 yr old Greg Klynn who pulled 555 @ 165 and a young guy his last name was Snelling who pulled a 610 @ 165

Kewl. Let the dust settle on this thread a lil' & those interested can come up with rules for squat & bench, which I know will be a lil' more sticky than the deadlift.

On that note - hitching/rebending knees? Those will red light a deadlift in a comp.

I do, thinking about a 100% RAW meet in November. Would like to get a Class II total if my knees hold out without wraps.

I am seriously contemplating entering this in 2011 (raw):

The reason is that it features all 3 lifts. Most up "heay" are heavy in bench & deadlift, etc. I also heard it recently became an sanctioned meet (USAPL I think) which is cool.

I will need to decide by November if I am so I can run a proper 12-16 week prep cycle for March 2011. I also want to see where I am as far as a total & where I could be by then. I am *knock on power cage* cautiously optimistic I could be around a 1400 total by then....we'll see.....

That said, if I do I will probably submit my lifts for this in November as a way to establish 1RMs heading into a 3 month prep cycle.

I think I could get my DL and squat respectable for my wt/age class, but BP is now out of the question. I got my shoulder back in decent shape a few months and started thinking about a full PL meet, started doing BB bench again, and now my right shoulder is right back where I started.
