I'm looking forward to yard sale season as well. Haven't seen many weights or pieces of equipment around here at sales though. Get good deals from the college exodus?

Thanks for all the sound advice everybody. I think if I can't find a good deal through craigslist, I'll be purchasing the rogue bar. I messaged a guy regarding his bar, and he says he thinks its Ivanko. The black bar, and is offering me for a cheap price. Would anyone be able to confirm with these pictures?? Please let me know asap if you can as I'm seeing him after work.

Since we're discussing barbells - can anybody tell what kind of barbell is in the attached pic? I've asked for better pictures, but haven't received them yet.

My mind's a little blown here. Emailed about a CL ad for quality Olympic Bars for $40. Guys emails back and says they're Power Systems and have a weight capacity of 500 lbs and they have four available. Wasn't impressed by the 500 lb capacity but never heard of Power systems so I figured I'd Google them. After looking around the site, I found the bar (http://www.power-systems.com/p-2456-...ympic-bar.aspx). Bar looks nice and discovered its made for Olympic lifts. Some sites say its needle bearing. Probably not bad for $40 (though less capacity then I'd like). Where my mind is a little blown is the $330 the site is selling it for when it is only 500 lb capcity. Am I missing something here?

I just got an incredible deal down here. I had to leave in the middle of lunch to take opportunity of it earlier today. I found a Ivanko OBX-20kg and the guy sold it to me for only $80. I checked the end caps, felt the aggressive knurling, everything seemed to check out. It seemed to good to be true. I've dealt with the seller before and I purchased my Parabody rack with lat attachment + weights from him. Real awesome and friendly guy. Super pumped, I just want to race home and play in my gym, I feel like a kid on Christmas.

So I emailed the seller and asked if the other guy had come through yet, and lo and behold he hadn't. So, I went and picked everything up this evening. Ended up being more weight than he advertized, too. Instead of 4x25, 4x10, and 4x5 lb plates he had 6 of each (in addition to the 4x45, etc.) Came out to 492.5 lbs, Fitness Gear bench, weight rack, barbell, and two decent oly dumbbells with screw collars for $100.
The "bad" part is, some of the plates look old school...Deep dish "Billard" plates, milled. I need to research and see if they are worth anything special. Problem is I think I want to keep some. Even the 5 pounders are milled! I just love the look of milled plates.()---() York Barbell Club #5 ()---()

Don't think you could go wrong for $100 (unless it was the Weider rack that can only hold 210 lbs). Would have to check the spotters out but they look similar to what I have on my TDS rack. If you're unsure about the spotters, you could get new spotters if you wanted to go that route and the total cost still wouldn't be bad. Worst case is you could probably flip it for $200-$250.

York dumbell sets - 55, 65, 70, 80, 90, 100 = 920lbs ....$375.00 dollars
(rack included, wood but works)
I don't work out heavy with dumbbells very much. Having said that, I can afford these, and they are so pretty! York globes....*drool*
I just called the guy, and the funny thing is I have bought a bench from him before. I offered him $300 and he said sure. I'll go check them out tomorrow.()---() York Barbell Club #5 ()---()

It's funny, I was thinking of driving up immediately after it was posted. I was going to stay with my inlaws in Hartland. But alas, a 13hr drive is a little more than I want to do, and I'm not sure that the wife would be happy, lol.
I agree, neg reps if he doesn't have them by midnite tonite ;o)."Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do, than by the ones you did" Mark Twain

Guys, they are at a gym, and it is closed. When I spoke with the guy I told him I could come out tonight but he wants to hold off until tomorrow (he was at home for the night).
I appreciate the encouragement, though! I'll pick them up on my lunch break tomorrow.()---() York Barbell Club #5 ()---()
