There's an intriguing ad in my area for some olympic collars at a reasonable price,
Any ideas on what type they might be?
I know its probably too generic of a design with no close-up photos,
Unfortunately it's the only photo they have on the ad..
Trying some google searches, YORK usually has their name boldly embossed on the side,
So I don't think they're YORK. Maybe just a generic brand?Last edited by TheDude8734; 04-18-2014 at 05:54 AM.

It's really hard to tell. I know that Weider sold those with that "International" set that absolutely no one wants on CL.
You might ask if there is leather lining the insides (to prevent boogering up the bar). That would at least indicate a fair level of quality. Some of those collars have leather, some don't.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

What's a fair price for one set of 50lb powerlifting chains ~6' long? There's a set in my area for $100. Have no idea if this is good or bad...

I have 2 sets(4 chains) of 5/8" chains. These "sets" were $10 total and came from a tow truck driver on CL. I just had to cut it to length.
$100 is too steep for chain IMO. You can buy "powerlifting chain" from rogue, EFS, etc but it's really kind of a scam. Leader chains are super easy. You can get that thickness at the hardware store.()---() York Barbell Club #54 ()---()

I have the same bench. I paid $175 for it off eBay (forgot the seller) a few years ago brand new in a box. It really sucks on the incline for me cause of the shape of the upper pad. I could never quite get my back to find a good spot plant into. I'm actually searching for another bench as we speak...

Billiard olympic plate set and an unidentified bar (has pinned sleeves, so it may be half decent). It's not a York bar, but might be something worth owning.
Too far away for me, but might be a good pick-up for someone ($200, but the ad has been up since March)Last edited by 59phinz; 04-20-2014 at 06:52 PM.

Oh well, it was worth a shot asking as they were only 15$ in the ad.
I plan on getting some Ivanko (COC-2.5KG) Ring Collars but wasnt sure if these would work in the meantime.
Not worth messing up my bars for the sake of using cheaper collars.Last edited by TheDude8734; 04-21-2014 at 06:23 AM.

I'm in that same position. I passed up the opportunity to pick up a pair of COC's for cheap a couple of times, thinking I would never have a need for them. I picked up a set of rubber coated plates a while back. I would love to have used them for deadlifts, but the rubber gets pretty ripped up. It seems like those compression collars would help with this. I ended up selling the rubber plates last week before the rubber got so messed up that I wouldn't be able to get rid of them.
