I just picked up a smith machine that I got from a small personal training studio for FREE. It's in good enough condition and I figured it's pretty good for the price lol. I would post pictures of it but I don't think it would allow me since I don't have a high post count. Here's a link to it.

Good deal for $150?
Nautilus NT 907
Power System with squat rack, Olympic bar, lat tower & bar, preacher curl attachment, leg curl/extension attachment, adjustable bench for flat, incline or decline press, e-z curl bar, pulley system with bar for rows/triceps, 205 lbs. in olympic plates. All manuals & instructions. Everything is in excellent working order.
Also includes 2 adjustable dumbbells with standard weights 100 lb's total and 2 additional handle attachments that can be used with the Nautilus System for more variety in your workout.
Don't really need the rack and Olympic weights but figure I can keep the dumbbell and sell the rest. How much does the Nautilus NT 907 generally go for?Last edited by Dimeron; 07-09-2011 at 05:38 PM.

yeah imma go for it. Im gonna contact the buyer in a bit but my only problem is i dont have a truck or access to a truck that could easily move it. Are these types of racks able to disassemble to be put in a four-door sedan, even if it takes multiple trips? Or will I have to find a truck?

Rent a Uhaul van. You could get a smaller one for $20 + mileage. I dont know how cheap that would work out for you but might be worth it vs. making multiple trips with a car.

yeah i looked into that. While my gf lives 25ish minutes away the problem is i live much farther so it would be significant cost if i were to bring it back to my place with the 0.99 per mile charge with the uhaul truck.

Commercial "Safety Squat" Smith Machine - $75 (Lake Hopatcong NJ)
This is for those who seriously want develop explosive leg strength for athletics or to improve max gain for power lifting competitions.
I was a competitive power lifter for many years while I sold high end fitness equipment many moons ago.
If you know that level of competition there is a "Safety Squat Bar" designed to allow perfect squatting technique to really push the heavy weight with limited risk to knees and low back.
The bar is like $400.00 on its own see the link below
http://flexcart.com/members/elitefts...12&m=PD&pid=10
And it has a quick safety release that stops the bar from descending if you at all fee uncomfortable. Very Cool!
This was the first and only "Smith Machine: version ever produced. I got it from a high gym that was changing owners at the time.
For serious lifting a reg "smith machine" is definitely one of machines in a gym to avoid.
But this machine combined with the safety squat bar allows correct movement for a muti join exercise such as the basic squat.
Why I am selling this so cheap?
Hear is the deal, the base of this machine is a "bear'. The base is a 4 x 6 quarter inch steel plate. That is about 300 to 400 pounds its self.
You need appliance dollies for just the base. It is a two to three man job.
I had professional fitness Equipment Company knock it down at the gym where I got it and reassemble it in my basement.
I recommend finding an outfit in your yellow pages under exercise equipment.
My basement has a door to a two car garage. You it can be removed pretty level.
Just want enough people to move it with out damaging my basement on the way out!
That's Fair!
