Hi, does anyone know how to diagnose a triceps tear? I went to see a doctor and he said it was not a muscle tear, but I'm not sure I trust his diagnosis.

Basically, over the past week or two I had accumulated quite a bit of arm training volume especially on the triceps. Yesterday I did some overhead triceps extensions, pushdowns with humerus internally rotated (to target lateral head), and reverse grip pushdowns. Before that I also did some side lying lateral raises for the first few degrees of shoulder abduction(supraspinatus) with some relatively heavy weight, but I felt some weakness because my forearm was neutral and the elbow joint does not articulate that way so I immediately dumped the weight.
Then I ended with some tricep kickbacks but lying sideways (which targets the lockout portion of the lateral head). That was when I felt clicking just above the elbow with each rep on my right tricep. I was doing those kickbacks with a fair amount of force, definitely not slow and controlled. I did not really experience any pain during the set, but I stopped soon as the clicking sensation felt really weird and there was a feeling that I wasn't contracting the lateral head even though that was my isolation target. I did not hear a pop at any point during the workout.
Fast forward about 6-8 hours later and there was some bruising. Still no pain except the lateral bruise upon strong palpation (about a 2-3 out of 10). Stretching above head and full elbow extension also presented no pain. The (tendinous) area just above the elbow joint was also painless upon palpation.
Anyone knows if it's a grade 1 tear of the lateral head? I'm erring towards that. Can I rule out a partial tricep tendon tear? As well, what protocol would you recommend for a mild tear? How long to rehab before going back to hypertrophy training to be safe? Thanks for any insights. Also, what are the chances my triceps will heal up shorter if I don't undergo surgery?

So doctor is LESS than ONLINE forum.
FS/ S/ OHP/ B/ DL

I don't go to the gym anymore so above stats are useless.
Only do weighted calastentics in the comfort of my own home!

Nah, I would hope his diagnosis is correct but I would like a second opinion from training enthusiasts. It's just something about the way he made his diagnosis that doesn't put my mind at ease. I wouldn't wanna go back and hit my triceps hard a week from now if I know I could have possibly had a slight tear.

Update. Saw another doctor today and tried asking for a referral to a specialist. He agrees with the diagnosis of the first doctor and claims there is "nothing wrong" and refuses to refer me to an ortho. He also said it was my lucky day as he worked in the ortho department before getting posted there. Glad to hear that he gave me the clear to workout, but seeing that there were bruises for no apparent reason I'd rather play it safe. I'm gonna take it slow and ease back into heavy weight and I doubt I'll push the volume so high again.
I had been obsessing with whether there is a length discrepancy of the muscle. Do muscles heal back shorter after tearing at the belly? I believe I've torn my hamstring before but not sure what to make of it.
