Being a real lifter is not about a number, or a medal, or somebody else telling you that you are a real lifter. It is about commitment to the iron and strength of purpose.

In my experience, just measuring and drilling holes on each side of the tubing doesn't give great results. Trying to drill straight through is worse. If you do this I don't think they're gonna line up enough to get your safety bar through each side.

If I was to build a rack I would make a jig and clamp it to each side of each post. Then I would either drill the holes with it in place, or mark the holes with a transfer punch then drill them.

I was wondering what your plan was fab-wise.

Interesting. I figured there would be some issue there, but not as much as you're talkin about. I haven't thought it through that well yet, I assumed the blue prints from the one site would be good enough. Worst case, I will just make the holes on the rack larger than they need to be. If they are loose they will still function as a safety. I will think it through and post up in here. If I make this when I go home in May I'll document it.

Again great list and I plan to do A LOT of strongman training this summer to get in shape for grappling and such. I found what looks to be a SICK looking prowler-like push/pull sled that is made with some pipes, 4x4's, and some welded ski's; which is most likely the most difficult part to construct. If you search its on one of those links and I must say for under $200, or even $150-180 I have to try it. Buying a prowler plus its shipping... yuck as Ill have to wait to my birthday in July and I don't want to wait that long!

Anyways heres another list I found awhile back. I didn't see it posted so I thought I would as it has some great builds on its own.

Since the thread is bumped I'll contribute something, it's pretty weak compared to other stuff in here though.

Here's my homemade wrist roller, made out of 2" pvc, a hose clamp, and a nylon jump rope. It slips over a bar perfectly so you can really load it up and not worry about holding the ****er up.

It's pretty straight forward to make, just be sure to burn the nylon a bit with a lighter or something where its knotted, or touching the pvc pipe. Find a random carabiner to put on the end and loop it through a plate. It feelsgoodman if you have some tendonitis going on, or if you wanna look like you jerk off a lot.

That I must admit is pretty darn creative, would be much simpler than finding and paying someone to make me ski's. Now I do have doubts about how counter sink(tiles?) would hold up moving along cement or grass. Grass might be okay but I could easily picture tiles and stuff like that getting chipped up pretty bad moving on cement.

My other concern is how does it 'flow' on the grass. Is there any resistance like it getting stuck or nuddging on the grass?

my yard is very " WAVY" even thou its 92 feet wide,
i beat on it in my driveway 50 feet one way . And in the street .
i live off a beach so there is extremely littel traffic. i have not replaced the " Skis" yet .
i have a welder but i waited 3 years on stuff so i been building my own stuff .
    over the next few weeks it a 240 lbs stone, 260 +/- 280 +/- and 300 +/-
adding 25 lb plates ( got them for barely 1.5 cents a lb )

im waiting on a power wheelbarrel , i have EVERYTHING i need . HE is just buried with a full time and part time job, so i stopped asking .

    but 6 x 6 timber is strong . so its a thought .

You can keep it under $200 if you have a connection or really try to, but I wouldn't count on it .

How to you plan to get the holes to line up on the posts?
I'm doing this, and what I've done is lined up my steel, duct taped them together, then ran them through a drill press. Worked like a charm.

Not sure if already posted, but any tips on how to make a pullup bar?
MBA students come out with: "My staff is my most important asset." Bull*****. Staff is usually your biggest cost. We all employ some lazy ****s who needs a kick up the backside, but no one can bring themselves to admit it.

    awesome thread brahs.

    My contribution:
Grab some PVC piping about 10cm in diameter(see ByronOrpheus' post above) and use it as a foam roller. Not really much DIY involved lol, but its cheaper than a $70 dollar foam roller.

I'd recommend a foam roller/pvc pipe for any brahs with muscle tightness and chronic knee/muscle pain.

will add some of the better ideas i've had later
