A lot of supplements say to "take on an empty stomach." So how many hours after a good sized meal is considered to be on an empty stomach? I typically wait 3 hours but I was wondering if that might be a little too much or just right.. or maybe not long enough.

this is the part where you log at what times you eat before you workout,
then find the right spot from looking at your logs.
We don't know how fast you digest food, so I really don't know how to answer this, its just knowing your body,
Depends on how much you had ate or how little you ate, it really doesn't matter a WHOLE LOT, unless it will mess up the lining of your stomach.Last edited by shot_gun; 04-09-2010 at 06:09 PM.

Well heres what I do now..
6am- wake up
6:30am- eat breakfast (2 cups rice, tuna patty, 3 eggs, 1 piece of bread)
9:00-9:30am- 1 scoop casein protein with 3oz of unsalted almonds
12:30pm- eat lunch (2 cups rice, and another tuna patty)
3:30- take my preworkout sups that say to take on an empty sotmach
4:15- start working out
and yeah, then of course there's dinner and my after workout meal but I don't think that's really needed for this..

I agree with everything except bolded. It certainly matters, especially for pre workouts. A lot of the stims get absorbed through the stomach, so if there is food in it interfering, you won't get the effects you desire.
However, a good rule of thumb is about 1.5-2hours after an average size meal.Last edited by CajunPballer; 04-09-2010 at 06:50 PM.
