1. Achieving something most American presidents have wanted since Roosevelt which is universal health care (this is enough to make him historic).
2. Accomplishing the most major arms treaty since cold war.
3. Bringing the U.S. back from getting into the worst economic depression in 80 years. Funny how panicked this nation was a year ago but now no one talks about a depression?
4. Bringing transparency to Washington. He has adopted the most strongest anti-lobbying and transparent laws of any U.S. administration before him. Bringing Washington back to what is for: looking out for its people.
5. Making America respected again and the beacon of civilization again for the majority of the world.
Also there are many more accomplishments so far which makes his presidency a watershed moment in American history.Last edited by rocker1; 04-08-2010 at 07:36 PM.

Stop paying attention to Glenn Beck.
Good government groups give Obama high grades on lobbying, transparency
By Dan Eggen
The White House gets high marks in a report issued Monday by four prominent good-government groups, who said anti-lobbying and ethics rules issued by President Obama have "begun the difficult process of changing the way business is done in Washington."
...
"The cumulative effect of the Administration's actions has been to adopt the strongest and most comprehensive lobbying, ethics and transparency rules and policies ever established by an Administration to govern its own activities," the groups say in their report. "The new rules and policies have begun the difficult process of changing the way business is done in Washington."

Eh, he's helped with credit card reform, more than anyone else can really say.
And although i have no idea whether or not i'm for the healthcare plan, I'm glad we're actually spending money on us, and not a useless, unwinnable warCliche motivational phrase

Considering I have provided sources and you haven't, what would you think?
WASHINGTON President Obama moved swiftly on Wednesday to impose new rules on government transparency and ethics, using his first full day in office to freeze the salaries of his senior aides, mandate new limits on lobbyists and demand that the government disclose more information.
Mr. Obama called the moves, which overturned two policies of his predecessor, a clean break from business as usual. Coupled with Tuesdays Inaugural Address, which repudiated the Bush administrations decisions on everything from science policy to fighting terrorism, the actions were another sign of the new presidents effort to emphasize an across-the-board shift in priorities, values and tone.

The legislation that just passed isn't "Universal Health Care". Nor is it what the public wanted or supported.
2. Accomplishing the most major arms treaty since cold war.
You consider that more "major" that banning all nuclear weapons from the ocean floor in international waters (1972)? More "major" than banning them from space-based platforms (1967)? You believe this is more "major" than the SALT treaties, which established the first limits on nuclear warheads, and curtailed design of new missile systems (1970s)? Explain how START 1 (1991), which slashed nuclear warheads by 50% (numbering in the thousands), isn't as "major" as this treaty which cuts those numbers by 30% (numbering in the hundreds)
This is simply the latest in decades of nuclear arms treaties, which many Presidents have been involved in.
3. Bringing the U.S. back from getting into the worst economic depression in 80 years. Funny how panicked this nation was a year ago but now no one talks about a depression?
4. Bringing transparency to Washington. He has adopted the most strongest anti-lobbying and anti-transparent laws of any U.S. administration before him.

5. Making America respected again and the beacon of civilization again for the majority of the world.

Way more than anyone and I appreciate the fact my interest will not go up for a whim.
In the most sweeping changes to the credit card industry in 40 years, President Obama signed into law Friday an act to restrict practices he says contributed to consumers' financial problems during the recession.
"With this bill we are putting in place some common sense reforms designed to protect consumers," Obama said at a signing ceremony at the White House.

Its true..
"This legislation is the first step in building a clean energy economy that creates jobs and moves us closer to solving our enormous energy and environmental challenges, said Senator Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat and Senate Majority Leader. Weve talked about moving forward on these ideas for decades. The Apollo Alliance has been an important factor in helping us develop and execute a strategy that makes great progress on these goals and in motivating the public to support them.

I was considering responding to you until I read that Nutsy. You are so partisan you will never say anything positive about our dynamic president even if he was to fly and touch the moon.
I suppose Greenspan, the RONALD REAGAN APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF THE FED, wasn't the one to first say we were facing the biggest crisis since the Great Depression and is even bigger than the Great Depression (all due to Reaganomics)?
Greenspan said that while the economy was in worse shape in the Great Depression, the recent financial crisis was potentially more harmful than that in the 1930s because “never had short-term credit literally withdrawn.”

Again who is talking about an economic depression anymore let alone one that surpasses the Great Depression?Last edited by rocker1; 04-08-2010 at 08:15 PM.
