I looked it up and I have gotten answers of 20 - 40 grams per day...is it really that much?

well not only that but you need em in a certian ratio to become really effective. ... just remember you probably get 5-8 grams from your protien drink.. so if your like me thats like 30 grams before you supplement .. not saying they work the same in the presence of other protien, but just somethings to think about...
1 make sure your getting the correct ratio of the bcaa
2 take into account your total intake from protien shakes subtract the difference and start your supplemental intake at around the difference in grams.

i say start your daily supplemental intake at the difference in grams.. so after you assess your results you can then start to increase the supplemental intake as your needs require. so you may in the end find the results you want at and even higher dosage than what they say. heres the deal. everyone is different and i suspect that each person has a certain threshold level were the aminos become effective. it seems like the people who like aminos and swear by them have found their effective dose. for me its too much between meals all day long kind of supplements.. its like your always taken them.. but thats when they become effective.
