I would like to start off by thanking ErgoGenix for the opportunity to test Aftermath. Aftermath is your ultimate post-workout replenishment complex and is designed to be taken immediately after your workout, before you consume any other shake or meal.* Each serving in ErgoGenix Aftermath contains 23g protein, and 13g high-glycemic carbohydrates.
This log will last through 20 workouts. I will be using AfterMath after each weight session (3 per week) and on non-weight days I will probably be using it after my cardio exercise, which lately has been very intense and the extra recovery would be quite welcome.

I will probably wait and start this on Monday, just wanted to get the log up so I could get some followers before it started. I know some of you are following my unsponsored log that I put up on my own to help me keep on the right track toward meeting my goals. My progress in that log (which I will link to if Ergogenix is okay with it) has been great, but my body is definitely holding it against me. When I saw this opportunity pop up and looked at the profile I knew I had to try this product. The profile isn't carb heavy like most post workouts and it's definitely a no-nonsense formula. I expect this will help my recovery which will allow me to continue to reach my goals.
I am currently sitting at 269 on my way to the goal of 250 by June 26th (that is the day I'm getting married).
Anyway, I have been at 400lbs before so the progress is pretty good so far. This review will focus on the taste and recovery aspect of the product, as well as the normal protein aspects that are reviewable (mixability, etc.)

I am a huge, huge fan of the profile. I don't use any of the products out there "designed" for post workout because of the 40-60 carbs per serving. I am a carbophobe, but at the same time I am probably 50-100lbs heavier than everyone else who says "don't be scared of carbs brah"
I have found I have to keep them pretty low or I can't seem to lose any weight.

Day 1 In Review
Initial Impressions: After my first serving of AfterMath I am thinking it will end up being a pretty solid product. The taste is pretty good, the mixability isn't an issue, and so far I haven't had any negative digestion issues or anything like that.
Taste: Pretty good blue raspberry flavor. A mixture between real blue raspberry taste and a cotton candy taste. Doesn't really hit either enough to consider it one or the other. It is sweet for the most part, with a hint of tart imo. I mixed it with 11 ounces of water and some ice cubes.
Mixability: Considering the large amount of powder it mixed pretty flawlessly. A couple of re-shakes after first mixing it and there were no problems. The only issue was it was a bit foamy.
Other: A bit of a whey aftertaste, but nothing too bad and definitely something that would be consistently drinkable. Hopefully I will be able to update on my recovery soon. I did biceps/back today (It is my favorite lift of the week because I like doing deadlifts).

No weights yesterday and I worked out later than usual today since it was an off day.
Day 2 In Review
Taste: Went with 8 ounces of water and a couple of ice cubes. Flavor was about the same, a little bit stronger. I am not sure if I will do less than 8 ounces of water because there is a lot of powder and I am not sure how the mixability would be. Might try it just to give some feedback and then add more water if necessary.
Mixability: Not as easy as with more water but still no problems other than the foam.
Other: Not sure what else to say. I was potentially less sore after my back/biceps workout from the other day so that could potentially be attributed to the product. Today was a nice chest/tri workout along with some solid time spent running/playing basketball.

Day 3 In Review
Taste: 6 ounces of room temperature water plus a lot of ice. I didn't have any water cold so I thought I'd try it with the 6 ounces like recommended for heavier taste and I put a lot of ice in it to try and make it cold. The taste this morning was easily the best so far. Strong blue raspberry taste with minimal whey taste after effect. Definitely an easily drinkable product.
Mixability: Put my shaker bottles in the new dishwasher and ruined all the lids so I wasn't sure what to do. I have an old vortex mixer that I used to mix it up with. Worked fine initially then a few drinks in I noticed a lot of powder at the bottom. With no way of mixing it up again I used a fork to stir it which worked fine.
Other: This drink is "heavier" than other protein products I have used, probably due to the carb content. I think this is the most carbs I've used consistently in a protein drink so I might be a bit biased. It is much lighter than Dark Matter which is really my only consistent comparison tool. The flavor is not as good as Dark Matter but I like the profile better than Dark Matters.
I also noticed my muscles felt a bit more full this morning than usual, and breezed through my morning run a little easier than normal. Also, for anyone following my progress I am down to 267 this morning, which is awesome coming from 400+.

Good work. No clumps at all in the final version.
Also worth noting if you throw the ice cubes into the mix after it mixes up it helps some with the foaming.
I am definitely thinking even after just a few servings that I will probably buy this after the log and use it as my PWO.
Maybe a citrus flavor in the future?

Haha, that's funny that I guessed it. For some reason though, with the blue raspberry flavor...the way it tastes...I dunno I can just see citrus being a good flavor for this.
Definitely hope it catches on. I see people complaining about so many carbs in products all the time so this should catch on for people like me who want to avoid that many carbs pwo.
Being someone that really likes to eat I need to keep my carbs down, so I definitely want as many of them as possible coming from real, great tasting food sources.

Thanks man. I think that once you mess around with the water a little bit you can get this product to be awesome. So far it has tasted pretty good all three days but the 6 ounces + ice was money. Probably gonna stick with that. I like that it's low in calories enough that I don't feel bad if I eat a PWO meal soon after. (with the 50+ carb formulas out there I'd feel terrible about myself if I had the shake and then had a meal soon after tbqh)
