Good back and chest workout Jim. Hang in there with those work obligations. It sure is tough missing the workouts! Rest up and come back strong....

Good to hear about the trip being good for your career. It is very tough training on the road too.

Good news about your career. Work may suck, but it does pay the gym fees.

Thanks everyone. Just got to meet some key people in the organization.
I work for a Fortune 500 company, but our site is very small; practically a rounding error. LOL. So sometimes I feel like the red-headed stepchild. Was nice to be part of the meeting.

Deadlifts and Legs
My back is seriously sore right now.
I had to really back off on the heavy stuff, and aborted my last set of deads today.
Lower back is feeling a bit dodgy.
Leg press wasn't too spectacular, but OK.

Lower back was not feeling great, so I threw the belt on and continued:
495 x 1
425 x 3
405 x 3
405 x 3
405 x 1 <---bailed and done
Leg Press

395 x 8
395 x 9
395 x 8

That's it.
I promised Lisa we'd go get some kitchen cabinets tomorrow, but I will try to train anyway. Been a while since I've had a dedicated gurly arm day.
Happy Easter, kids.

Hey, you could try being Mr. Rep Man!!!! like me Low weight & lots of reps outside of the [back] pain zone keeps things nice and warm until they heal up. You're a beast with those bigs squats and deads but it's hard to imagine that putting that much stress on them is giving the injury time to clear up. Now, I'm no MD and generally never know what I'm talking about so take that with a grain of salt! However it gets there, I hope you get to feeling better soon. Have a great weekend.

The leg pressing #s are insane dude! Sorry to hear about your back bothering you. Rest up Top Jimmy. You can't be the squat monster if you're injured.

Still looks great! Maybe you just need more recovery time...Maybe deadz every other week?
I'd eat a French goat turd if I thought it'd make me bigger.
Pardon the mess; body under reconstruction.

LMAO. Yanno. I was thinking this morning that even with a gimpy back and shoulder I pulled 5 plates off the floor, so that's not too shabby!
Felt better abotu my workout this morning than I did yesterday.
I woke up sore and it felt good.
A bad day with the iron is better than no iron at all.
You could be onto something there...........
I don't think so; but I may skip the deads and/or the heavy squats this week to give my lower back a break.
Thanks for the support guys.
We went out shoppign today for new cabinets for the kitchen. Holy crap we ended up spending over twice what we had planned.
Just got home, so no gym today. I'll take it easy today and tomorrow.
Happy Easter.

Happy Monday!
Had a good meal last night, got to bed early, and had a good sleep. Decent start to the training week this morning. Still had some back DOMS from doing DLs on Friday, so the first few sets of pulldowns were rough, but then they got better.
Reasonably short workout today; 2 for back, 2 for chest, and I was able to do some very light incline barbell presses. Happy about that.

Glad to see that the Incline Bench didn't hurt the shoulder this morning!
Nice pulls! Esp. the CGPDs... heavy stuff!
