drafted last night. how's it looking?
Thanks thefullmonte. Didn't realize this thread was here.
Had my money league draft last night and am really liking my team. Got some guys I was definitely targeting. Standard 5x5 roto; I had the 5th pick. I always seem to be able to pick up steals and saves half-way through the year so I'm usually a little low on those at draft time. Anything else glaring I need to address?

10 team, keeper league(first year), keep up to 3 players, 10 batting categories and 8 pitching. I know my SP is weak, but besides wins our pitching categories favor RP's and starters went really early in our draft. 1st overall pick in a snake draft so I had to over value on some of my back to back picks. What do you think?

I expect Brett Anderson to be the Zack Greinke for this year... he was flat out dominating the 2nd half last year with a sub 3 era and lots of strikeouts.

Ok so my draft was yesterday, everyone went pitcher crazy in the first 2 rounds for some reason but I restrained myself but I think I have a very weak staff. My league weighs HEAVILY on power, it is a h2h 10 team league.
I got Reyes in the 6th round and Beltran in the 16th. Also got Ted Lilly in the 21st. I think if these 3 guys bounce back from their injuries I could have a real solid squad.
Here's my team, had the 8th pick (one of our UTIL spots must be manned by someone with multiple position eligibility:
C - Geovany Soto
1B - Mark Tiexiera
2B - Dan Uggla
3B - Kevin Youkilis
SS - Jose Reyes (Orlando Cabrera until he comes back)
OF - Justin Upton
OF - Jason Bay
OF - Carlos Beltran (Jay Bruce until he comes back)
UTIL - Nick Swisher
UTIL - Adam LaRoche
BENCH - Chris Young
SP - Yovani Gallardo
SP - Tommy Hanson
SP - Clayton Kershaw
SP - Jorge DeLaRosa
SP - Jonathan Sanchez
RP - Brian Wilson
RP - Andrew Bailey
BENCH - Ted Lilly
BENCH - Huston Street
BENCH - Barry Zito
Now I'm trying to spin a trade with some guy who is in love with Andrew Bailey. I'm gonna trade my Bailey and Swisher for his Aramis Ramirez and Carlos Marmol. This will provide an upgrade in my hitting as I can then insert Youk in my UTIL multiple position slot and put A-Ram at 3rd.
Then I might try to swing a trade for Zack Greinke or another stud pitcher.
Let me know what you guys think.Rutgers University - New Brunswick Class of 2011

rate me plz
Offense is sick, drafted all offense first. I'm aware my 2 closers (at the very bottom) suck balls but I'll find replacements easy enough, closers aint worth much in trade value. 10 team league. picked 3rd. GO!
