Hey guys, I have been training for the past 6 years, and I was focused mainly on strength. So, I reached a desirable level for myself, so I decided to go back to a more basic regime to gain some mass. I started doing mainly 8-12 reps and my routine consists of 3 splits chest/triceps, back/biceps and shoulder/legs (I train other smaller muscle groups too). So, every group is being hit every 5th day, and I seem to be doing well, recovery is good.
Should I be doing changes to this routine if I add heavy bag workout on my off days in the morning? I am doing 30 minutes of this, in rounds, not as HIIT. It is just to practice my striking and keep fat under control. Would this be too much?

I share the same opinion, my friend, but there are some opinions around that because you are punching, hence using stength (although you do not hit full-force at practice), it mixes with your recovery, especially of shoulders and arms. I do not how credible this sounds.
Of course, any type of cardio can mess your recovery if your diet and rest is not good, so the topic is whether boxing is worse on muscle recovery than any other type of cardio?
