    Wine has zero nutritional benefit. If you're cutting it lengthens your cut time. If you're bulking it will go to fat gain which will need to be dieted off. I like wine but it serves no purpose in bodybuilding. It just screws things up more than anything. When I'm "On the program" alcohol goes by the wayside

    Probably why I bottom out at around 12-13% lol.

    Yes for sure. 2 glasses of wine a night is 300 cals. That's the difference between 1,700 and 2,000 cals a day....HUGE when cutting. Makes all the difference. It basically takes you from a nice little defecit to being at maintenance most of the time.

    Honestly that hasn't held true in my experience. Also, on the occasions I drink a lot, I don't get wild or anything and don't end up saying or doing stupid stuff that I probably wouldn't have done anyway. That might be kind of rare.

    This happened in the late 80's. Some lady killed her husband by giving him a Prestone and gin cocktail every day after work.

    A lot of bumping of interesting threads recently lol

    I agree on what Tommy said 8 years ago. When I cut I just go cold turkey on alcohol, it just messes up everything. And messes up bulking too lol, but I do like the taste of wine and I am not enough of a health freak to cut out alcohol entirely

    I should never have written that post lol. Fell for the temptation to drink wine this weekend after all.

    But I have found that as long as I go cold turkey on all highly processed food I don't get those problems. I get virtually all my carbs from fruits and veggies currently. If I eat bread it's homemade. As long as I do this I can still enjoy some wine in moderation without ruining my cut.
