    Am I gaining too fast?

In two weeks I have already gained 10 pounds. (120-130)

My lifts are going up and I lost some definition in my abs but it doesn't look like I put on a lot of fat.

That is to fast. 5 pounds a week...normally people see 2 pounds a month of muscle so if you stayed at that pace you would gain 18 pounds of fat to 2 pounds of muscle.

I wouldn't try to continue at that rate, but things should slow down a bit so it should be okay. Generally when someone first starts to bulk they end up eating a lot more sodium. This creates more water retention and therefore more weight gain.

i was wondering the same thing..i did't gain that fast but i put on 20 pounds in about 3 monthes after a long break from any kind of lifting or sports and it seems to me though most all the gain was good solid muscle to me. id put me at about 10-15% BF from my pic which is about the same or less then when i started.

lol. Don't even listen to this guy. You obviously couldn't keep up at that pace. You are experiencing noob gains. Just eat clean and lift heavy and rest like a bear.

so you are saying he should gain another 20 pounds for the next 2 weeks because noob gains usually last for about a month? HE IS GAINING TO FAST NO MATTER IF ITS IN THE FIRST WEEK OR FIRST YEAR OF WORKING OUT.

40 pounds in one month is not to much? Think before you speak.

You've gained a good amount of fat and water weight but it's not such a bad thing, with fat comes strength to some extent and you're certainly a low weight so just continue with it maybe add in a bit of cardio and cut maybe 4-500 calories out of your diet if you're that worried about gaining fat rapidly.
When you're satisfied with what you have, you're done with bodybuilding.

eh not really, 4 pounds a week is a high optimum for a leaner bulk. so 5 really isnt bad

just keep going, seriously ignore the guys telling you are too fast, you can cut down later. i'm going at about 0.5 kg every workout, its just newb gains, notice how the guys who say you are too fast are mostly sub-180 tiny guys like me? keep going, better fat than a skinny runt

At your weight I'd say keep eating. A lot of your weight may be water weight so don't worry. If it looks like fat, it's probably fat. If your lifts have gone up that's a good indication that at least you're putting on some muscle.
