Good thread and post. We can have difference, but something we can agree is that, GOD IS GREAT.

1) This is good info on the Islamic State
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpo...1&postcount=15
2) I don't think Muslims hate the West or even non-Muslims. Rather, many Muslims hate the foreign policy of Western governments. Otherwise, Muslims generally hate any sinful behavior which is broadcast in the media or encouraged in society.
So there's nothing necessarily wrong with living among non-Muslims as long as one is:
A) Not partaking in any sin
B) Encouraging upright behavior
C) Teaching others about God*** There is no one free of all need, of whom all else are in absolute need, but God ***

Why is it considered sinful to earn interest?
-
02-11-2010, 03:19 PM #8
Because God has considered it socially and economically harmful to generate money through debt transactions. God also says that one should avoid taking loans unless absolutely necessary, meaning that one should try to live within one's own means as opposed to over-spending and taking loans.

What's the deal with the classic; 'Muslims hate the Jews' stereotype.
Do you guys not recognize that they are God's chosen people?
-
02-11-2010, 03:34 PM #10
We don't believe that any ethnic group is God's chosen people. Rather, we believe that God's covenant applies only to those who believe and obey God's revelations. God has never had a problem with punishing or destroying nations whose people commit oppression and sin regardless of their heritage.
In addition, I don't think Muslims have a problem with Jews; they have a problem with people who support the Israeli government and its actions towards its Muslim neighbors. Obviously many Jews are likely to support Israel even though it is not a religiously Jewish government, so that's where the connection is between resentment and Jews, but the essential problem is with the country, how it was formed, and how it treats Muslims.*** There is no one free of all need, of whom all else are in absolute need, but God ***

Respected brother,
In terms of keeping good relations with family members who are oppressive and/or who could potentially cause harm, what would be the minimum level of maintaining ties... this would be inshAllah a short term (mmm...perhaps a couple of years?) prospect due to circumstances beyond control or influence...and the family member is not muslim.

SyrianKid, my understanding was that the Jews of the old were 'chosen', so to speak. However, the modern day group that refer to themselves as Jews are in turn not necessarily of the same 'chosen people'.
[2:47] O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I bestowed upon you, and that I blessed you more than any other people.
I do not however disagree with your statement as a whole. However, I figured it may be important to clarify that particular point.Last edited by mehdi84; 02-11-2010 at 07:01 PM.

As-Salaamu aleikum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatahu
Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem
Allahuma Salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een wa sallim
God always favors and gives victory to believers over disbelievers, which is why God told the Jews that they were favored and given victory over Pharaoh and Goliath's Philistines why they eventually were allowed to enter Palestine.
Likewise, God says in the Qur'an that believers in Jesus (pbuh) were given victory over those who disbelieved in him (the pagan Romans and the Jews).
So God's favor only clings to those who believe, and we can see how Jews lost God's favor as soon as they disbelieved in later Prophets (pbut) and due to their sins.
O ye who believe! Be ye helpers of God: As said Jesus the son of Mary to the Disciples, "Who will be my helpers to the work of God?" Said the disciples, "We are God's helpers!" then a portion of the Children of Israel believed, and a portion disbelieved: But We gave power to those who believed, against their enemies, and they became the ones that prevailed. (Qur'an 61:14)

Assuming you're a sunni, if Islam is the last, final true religion that God has sent down. Then why does shia-ism exist? After the human corruption of the previous religions im pretty sure they wouldn't have allowed corruption in the "last & true" religion? I know its human-will to choose how to follow the islam but wasn't it humans that made the previous religions false enough so it wasn't god's words anymore. So why would God allow Islam to be corrupted into a wrong version like shia-ism if Islam is truely the last, true, final religion and God will not let it get corrupted?

1. Was Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) made up of Nur, as some Barelvis believe it?
2. Is he present everywhere and able to know each and everything; as they(Barelvis) believe it?
3. Is it possible for the dead saints to intercede on the behalf of the alive?"The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked about the things most likely to bring people into the Garden. He said, 'Fearful awareness of Allah and good character.' He was asked about the things most likely to bring people into the Fire. He said, 'The mouth and the genitals.'"

Alhamdulillah, a friend of mine is planning to establish a Darul Uloom. He has got a good amount of knowledge but no funds at disposal. Right now, he is saving each and every penny that he can to accomplish this noble task. However, it is apparent that the costs of establishing and running a Darul Uloom would be in millions. He is still unemployed but trying his best. What are the other requirements for accomplinshing this endaevor? Could you please help us out. I know this is a long term task but still 'where there is a will, there is a way'.
P.S We are yet students. A couple of days ago both of us saw the same dream. We saw that we have acquired a fat sheep in our house which was very pleasing to look at."The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked about the things most likely to bring people into the Garden. He said, 'Fearful awareness of Allah and good character.' He was asked about the things most likely to bring people into the Fire. He said, 'The mouth and the genitals.'"

What are some of the best recommended books on Hanafi Fiqh for a beginner?

Unlike the scriptures of other religions, Islamic scriptures have not been corrupted. What this means is that currently we would not be able to extract a completely pristine version of what God revealed to Moses or Jesus (pbut), but we could do that for God's revelations to Muhammad (pbuh).
God Himself told us that Muslim sects and cults would emerge, seventy-three of them to be exact, but that the religion would continue to be practiced and protected in spite of them. So while the complete teachings of previous religions are no longer documented or practiced, the Islamic ones are, they are just being ignored by the various sects.
This is a good post that demonstrates that:

That's an excellent project, but it needs careful planning and you should definitely begin with local help. I would get the advice of people who work at already established Islamic schools before proceeding.

3) No, only the Prophet (pbuh) is given permission to intercede on behalf of Muslims on the Day of Judgment, and some martyrs are also allowed to plead on behalf of their relatives, but not with the same weight as the Prophets' (pbuh) intercession.
