I think Arnold had the perfect physique. It's a shame that Mr. Olympia these days doesn't focus on who is the most symmetrical and proportional but rather who is the biggest. That's just my opinion. Arnold had the world's greatest body past and present. The guy is a legend.

ARNIE ARNIE ARNIE physique is so much more aestetically pleasing than ronnies IMO!

Obviously prime Ronnie beats prime Arnold, but I still think Arnold is the best bodybuilder in history. He made winning the olmypia look easy. He was the youngest Mr. Olympia that has ever been, and won his 6th title before Ronnie ever had his first.
IMO, if he had decided to continue bodybuilding, he could have easily won another half-a-dozen titles... maybe more.Bench: 215x12 (17/12/2011) PR since torn RC

Really cuz they don't show Ronnie's backside which would destroy arnold's as well as Ronnie's most muscular poses which would also **** on arnie. Arnold was great, but he can't hold a bodybuilding candle to Prime Ronnie's physique. We're not talking aesthetics because if we were Ronnie would never be in the conversation for that. Dexter, Flex, etc would be Arnold's competition for that.

imo, its personal preferance...they were decades apart. Its hard to compare physiques of 2 greats when they were both being judged differently...in the 90's and 2000's mass and conditioning was key to winning. In the 70's conditioning but aesthetics (sp?) were key to winning. The sign of a great champion is beating your competition by doing what is necessary to win...arnold did it with shape and conditioning and ronnie did it with mass and conditioning. Ronnie was aesthetic in the beginning but didn't hold that all the way through his career and still managed to win, arnold held his aesthetics all the way through his career and managed to win as well. Ronnie would beat arnold in pure size and legs, but the judges weren't looking for all that in the 70's, they wanted the most muscular competitor with the greatest proportions and shape. Its personal preferance if you compare the two, but they are both great for our sport so it makes no difference who you favor.

all i have to say is, let arnold take the stuff ronnie or any other mid 90s top ranked BBer has taken and work in the new techniques of lifting... arnold would def be more than 245lb+ and have logs for legs... but thats all involving IFs COULDVEs doodoo, you simple cant compare to athletes from to completely different eras!

i love how people still b**** about whose better. its personal opinion. some people would rather look like Big Ron, some like Arnie. And for whoever said that Arnie was 6'2 weighing as much as most 5'8 bodybuilders today...you sir are a retard. bodybuilding is partly about creating an illusion that tricks the eye into making you appear bigger than you really are. Arnold was a beast in his day and towered above the rest. get over it.

I'm actually surprised how well Arnold's upper body compares to Ronnie's in that second pic. Personally I'd rather look like Arnold but Coleman is still the GOAT. I wonder what Ronnie's health is going to be like in say 20 years. I'm not trying to start a flame war but I don't think many of today's pros will hold very well in old age.
