Okay people. . .
So, I have a semi-ridiculous question. What is the best alcoholic beverage to drink when you are looking to lose significant wait. I know ideally you should avoid it all together. . .but I haven't been able to commit to that yet.
When I go out I definitely do some serious damage. Rum/Diet, Shots, Madori. . .the whole nine.
I've been drinking probably 6 alcoholic beverages/week. But only on 2 days.
Can someone talk to me about what this will do to my efforts and some alternatives other than NOT DRINKING AT ALL.
I've committed to not drinking for 30 days to see if the progress ends up better, but I'd really just like to hear everyone's opinions on LIQUID COURAGE :/
Thanks
LBoogie

MGD 64 or nothing
Alcohol has more calories per 1.5 oz then almost anything you could put in your body at that weight.
I will drink Crown every now and then and a shot is 97 calories times that by a nights worth of straight shots and you have about 970 cal or more from booze add mixes and your at 2,000+ with the exception of diet soda.
Go to
http://www.calorieking.com/foods/cal...T1jcm93bg.html
for the down low on calories on all your favorite drinks that you probay should stop drinking.
MGD 64
64 cal

Low carb light beer is the way to go if you are a beer drinker.
Personally I can't drink that stuff though, so I stick with full strength lol. It's being a part of the Red, White and Green that makes me a Rooting Machine. And when you feel my mighty Stallion, you will know you have been with a true Italian. :D
Edit Dec 2009: ^^^^^^^^^^^^ I was gay when I was 15.

ISOPURE rtd is 160 cals 40g protein. 1 shot of goose is 67calx3. That puts it at 370 cals and 40 protein. I just wasn't sure if any biological factors would come into play to make it dangerous or anything. I like to go lower carbs on days I know I'll be drinking and adjust my macros to allow for a couple mixed drinks to get me feelin good.

Remember that many alcoholic beverages actually have beneficial effects when consumed responsibly (well, they have the same beneficial effects when consumed irresponsibly, also, but the negative effects begin to outweigh greatly ).
So why not just try and fit it within your macros for the day and count the alcohol calories like fat (metabolized much similarly).
With the title I thought you were going to talk about the drunchies. I think I get more calories from excess eating caused by drunchies than I would ever with the alcoholhttp://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?p=170889621&posted=1#post170889621
Conclusion: EAT THE WHOLE DAMN EGG!

how much does alcohol actually affect protein synthesis and stuff that negatively affects your progress? i might not have this 100% but i believe since your body is trying to metabolize a toxin (booze) it shuts down the other processes such as burning off fat and building muscle..
i dont care about the calories that much but i typically get fairly hammered every saturday and feel really guilty about it sometimes cus i feel like it sets me back all the hard work ive put in all week lifting hard and eating right.. i will typically drink in the range of 16-20 miller lite's throughout the day, once a week.
