    Your strength WILL decrease eventually... The first week is nothing... Even pros taking AAS/GH/Slin become much weaker when preparing for a contest. If you cut long enough to reach single digit BF, you'll be lucky to retain 80% of your previous strength.

    I've also noticed that since I started cutting my blood pressure has dropped. Usually this is a good thing but it's almost at hypotension levels.
    For instance, today I was at 104/57 (measured it many times, this was pretty much the average). I'm also having hypotension symptoms: I get light headed when I stand up quickly - more so than before I started cutting. This is especially noticeable when I get up after doing a set of rows - there have been quite a few times when I almost passed out.

    isn't that usually a sign of sodium deficiency?

    hey guys do you think cutting at 1000 calories is too much for me or would 1500 be better?

    my maintaince is calcuated at 2414(5,5 - 157lb)...trying to lose 10lbs by end of july and then after that i can start cutting slower than eventually start bulking

    will i lose too much muscle? gonna make sure i eat pretty much all protein and lift dem heavy weights

    Looking about mid-high teens to me, let's say 16-17% or so. If that estimate is right, and if you're 166 lbs, should be about 10-15 more lbs or so.

    Do you feel like you're losing any lean mass at all, cutting that fast? How have your lifts been in the gym?

    1000 cals is basically PSMF territory... I wouldn't just do that indefinitely. If you want to run a very low cal diet, there are guidelines to follow to maintain lean mass. Look up Lyle McDonald's "Rapid Fat Loss" book for more info.

    Yeah I'm gonna go for about another 10lb atleast and see where I end up. Well jus gonna carry on until I'm where I want to be.

    And it was only fast first month, went to 1/2lb after that. DOnt think I've lost any mass and strength has been pretty steady. Dumbell shoulder press is the only thing thats took a SLIGHT hit. Can still do same weights just less sets.

    Chest flyes increased and everything else has remained relatively same.

    weird..haven't eaten overly "great" the last 2 days...few slices of pizza, some chicken-mini's from Chic-Fil-et , but calorie wise probably within my goals...weighed myself this morning and finally broke into the 150's....was 159.6. I was very surprised.

    so the key everyone to losing weight is to eat like crap j/k

    just to give you guys an update on me - I'm over the flu, but now i have all these vacations coming up. my family is going to the jersey shore for 4th of july weekend, and we're leaving in 2 days. So I figured I'd make this week like a UD2 type thing. I'm PSMFing (very low calorie diet) for these 4 days, then I'm going to the shore and refeeding for the rest of the week. So these last few days have been 1300 cals.

    So kind of a half-assed version of UD2, if anyone knows what that is. So far I have lost 1 lb in the last 2 days. Nice.

    5 weeks of under 30g of carbs a day and 500cal~ deficit. Mega keto mode now. Lost about 4 pounds after the first 2 weeks but gained them back but a visible loss of bodyfat. Arms look kinda flat due to lack of glycogen but im vascular as all hell now. Guesstimating a 6-7% bf atm. Feels good, man.

    damn, i wish i could say the same. keto is so hard (lethargy, energy levels, no pump) but such win in the long run.

    I don't have a scale at home, and I'm probably not that obsessive compulsive about losing weight.

    I'm fairly new to this, I only have one ancient Airdyne that gets the job done. I started this cardio every day routine, big deficit but I drink gallons of water and that keeps the appetite in check. I went from about 220 pounds to 200.7 in the last 30 days, I'm sure it will be increasingly difficult to sustain this rate of weight loss. I'll invest in a Polar FT7 in the near future soon to optimize my routine, I'm training 'blind' totally unaware of my max heart rate etc...

    Thanks for a great resource, and keep up the good work.

    Back from banned camp baby.

    Have finally put a deadline on my cut. WIll be a month more on Monday, which means I get to start a good ol lean bulk (200-250 above maint) at the start of August (2nd)

    Aiming to have lost ATLEAST another 8lb by then.

    Finding my bike out and going at it hard for the last month, so hopefully ill be around 155 (Or less if I'm lucky)

    Update..

    Went to my first ever festival this weekend. Have a laugh, but boy, did I eat.

    Worst cheat day imagineable!! Possibly set me back 2 weeks or so. Ah well, I haven't cheated since I've started cutting so it was nice to eat a sh!t ton of terrible food.

    Weigh in today - I'm not gonna bother. I know I'll have rediculous water weight so just gonna weigh in next monday to see where I stand.

    lol dude same thing happened to me on friday... after 4 months of cutting i went ALL OUT, probably ate > 3.5k cals that night. it definitely felt good, but what i realized is that the marginal "pleasure" so to speak, goes down very fast when eating a lot. knowing this will help keep me motivated for the last few weeks

    anyway, this was pretty much my first big cheat, so I'm just gonna keep going for a couple more weeks and then it's holiday time

    Yeah was my first cheat too.

    No joke probably consumed about 7k kcals...

    Ah well just a minor setback. Still got another 6 weeks then I'm done. Atleast now we know the cheating isn't worth it in the end for next time!

    yeah and don't worry about this cheat... honestly i think doing this once has absolutely no effect on your appearance, just dont make it a habit

    Hey guys, been cycling to work and back (23 KM's) everyday since wednesday and eating the same as before but haven't lost a pound....

    is it just too soon to see results, or do i need to restrict what i eat on top of all that cardio?

    Weigh yourself the same time every week.. No more than weekly

    You wont see differences weighing daily, your weight fluctuates too much.

    And I would recommend dieting as it's a much more effective way to lose weight..

    Just got back from the jersey shore. Time for another mini-PSMF for a few days, and then I'm going to Haiti to do some volunteer medical relief work. I won't be able to post much on here for a while.

    makavelicss: why were you banned anyway?

    szary89: you need to, one way or another, end up in a caloric deficit. If you subconsciously eat more to compensate for the biking, you won't lose weight. Why not try counting your cals for a week just to get a handle on it, and then seeing if you can go ad libitum after that?

    **** brahs, I've been eating whatever I want and had lots of "dirty" food etc, but also good clean days without counting cals or giving a ****. This has of course been stupid, because I have noticeable fat gains already. It's sort of freaking me out, because I'm used to being at my lowest bf. I can still see the lower abs poking out relaxed though, but once they're gone I'm freaking out lol.
    My plan is to at least make some new decent prs in big lifts so I know I've gained something out of my half-assed bulk, then go back to cutting and go all the way to sub 10%. I'm never going back to the bf I had when I started my cut though, that's for sure.

    Not counting calories is a massive mistake. How do you know if you're eating enough/too much?
