Morton to the Rays? Team is gonna be good. Pretty sure they just passed the Yankees.

2 years 30 mil for Morton is an absolute steal.

Braves need to offer Kimbrel a 6/100 deal
That’s fair. He’s going to be good for a long time I feel like this is pretty low risk.
Kimbrel gets the big contract he wants but at a lower AAV with it spread out over an extra year than what he’s asking.
Braves get him at a respectable rate of 16.6 mil a year but have to commit long term (which again I think is low risk for a player of his caliber)"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Mets are seriously going to win the division and it’s not going to be close

Billy Wagner
Joe Nathan
Trevor Hoffman
Mariano Rivera
All pitched effectively until 38 or older
Others like Papelbon and K-Rod and even Rafael Soriano were effective until around 35
Giving Kimbrel 6 years to get a lower AAV is a smart mans play"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. Considering there's only been a handful of closers (if that) in the history of baseball that have pitched well into their mid to late 30's I'd say it's pretty hard. Obviously Mariano and Hoffman are the two that come to mind. Both didn't start their MLB careers until they were 26 and both were a totally different type of pitcher then Kimbrel is. Kimbrel's delivery is violent and he uses that get velocity. He has already shown to have problems repeating it. What happens when that velocity dips? Hoffman and Mariano had perfect, smooth, and repeatable mechanics. Look at Mariano's first save attempt vs his last one.

Also Mariano possessed the best pitch in baseball history, his cutter. Hoffman possessed a top 5 pitch with his cutter. I get you are a Kimbrel fan boy, but saying it's not risky to sign him to a 6yr 100mil contract isn't risky is crazy.

Braves clearly content only signing Donaldson this offseason. Can’t believe the recent article in the Braves homepage lists bullpen as the lowest priority and more of a wish than a need. Can’t be ****ing serious. Also not sure how starter is prioritized as the biggest need when we have a f*ck ton of starters and technically no corner outfielder.

Yeah I think we all know this though.
Signing McCutchen was a bad deal for them though, should of had more sense. I think they'll also sign Keuchel which will be a mistake. Segura was a good add, Machado will be a good add.
With the Braves adding Donaldson, as long as they fix their bullpen the Phillies adds I don't see being enough to make them the favorite. They'll be in contention for sure and bothersome.
But of course the Braves need to actually sign some relievers and stop pretending their bullpen isn't a mess for this to all be true. Otherwise yeah, Phillies and Mets gonna be duking it out."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable.
