not only is the skin messed up but the sizing is all screwed up, in order to view the whole screen I must use the scrolls bars to navigate.
Administration can we get an answer please?Being a real lifter is not about a number, or a medal, or somebody else telling you that you are a real lifter. It is about commitment to the iron and strength of purpose.

so they can make a dark skin with the adverts. my main beef is the color cheme. its too bright. and sure other sites i visit are bright, but i have no choice and im used to it.
for as long as ive been here, 6 years, i always used the dark skin, and i spend most of my online time on the misc so i need my dark skin!!!!

I don't understand, why do you even give us the option to change templates if you're just gonna force us to use the new one?

If you have Firefox, you can eliminate the side bar by using the RIP (Remove It Permanently) extension.

If you use IE, you can trick the browser cookies. You need to have cookies enabled to log in. Once you log in, block bb.com from saving a cookie, then make the skin change. As long as you don't log out, or close the browser window the skin will stay. Sounds tricky, but it's fairly easy.. I am an IT guy, so maybe it's easy for me... let me know if that doesn't work, or if you need assistance with the cookie permissions..

I'm using IE7, so that's how these would apply. I'm pretty sure it would be similar for IE6 or IE8..
1. Login to bb.com. Leave the crap skin alone for now.
2. You will need to access the internet options menu. This is done through the tools menu.
3. Click on the Privacy tab, 3rd from the left. There will be 4 buttons below the slider thingie. Click on the left button, Sites.
4. You should see a listing of all the sites that have saved cookies on your computer. Sort them by Domain, by clicking on the header, Domain.
5. Look for bodybuilding.com. The entry under setting will probably say, Always Allow.
6. Right-click on the line that says bodybuilding.com, and select, Block.
7. Then click OK until all the Tools & Options windows have closed, and you are back the main bb.com.
8. Now go to your User CP and make the skin change. It should stay on whatever you select, including the good ol’ vBulletin Style 3.
9. Remember, you will need to leave this tab, and browser window open. If you need to go to another site, use a new tab. I usually open IE, go to bb.com and do this before going anywhere else. That way, the bb.com is to the far left and doesn’t get mixed up with my work tabs.
Below is what I see when I make the changes. Circled in Red are where you need to click when prompted to.. Sorry if you can’t read it due to size..I was trying to keep this document to one page..
Okay, so I had to attach the image file instead...but you should be able to open it see what I'm talking about...
Also, I DO NOT suggest deleting or changing any other cookie settings. These may affect other sites as well, and you don't want to do that.
And I don't guarantee this will work, but it did for me. If someone will try this and let me know how it works for them, and any error messages they get, I can try to revise the instructions.....i remain, he who remains to be...

Bodybuilding.com isn't there. Hmm...
EDIT:
I added the site and it's working perfectly fine now.
Thanks a lot, man.
Reps on recharge!
EDIT #2:
The only problem now is you have to re-allow the site again in order to login again 'cas for some reason none of my login info is saved and won't allow me to login with bbing.com blocked.
After allowing it again and logging in you can re-block it and repeat the cycle.
I'd rather do this than have to bare with the current one.Last edited by ObscuredByClouds; 02-11-2010 at 09:35 AM.

Damn.. I knew I forgot something. I have more advanced options on my machine, and on most peoples they would be enabled meaning that it wouldn't show as you indicated. Doing what you did by adding it manually will go over the advanced settings.. Thanks for trying it out!

Hmm..what do you mean by stays bold? Same skin, but different font for the text on screen? I see no difference between the tab I use to make the changes in User CP and any other tab I open to reply or post or read a thread. I think I've seen in some of the complaint threads that font size and appearance were getting screwed up to. I'll see if I can figure somethign out, but without seeing it on my end I may not be able to.. Have a meeting through the end of the day, but I'll check when I get home...

Oh yeah...Damn x3!!! That information is stored in the cookie, and by blocking the cookie from being saved the site is unable to tell when the last time you were logged in..so it thinks all the threads are still unread since your last visit. Nothing I can do on that one I'm afraid..or maybe there is. I'll talk to my web developer and see if can figure something out.. Still waiting on my meeting to start, so I may or may not have something sooner than later..

Anyone else give the above a try? Seems to be the only way around the forced skin issue in IE for now..would be willing to hear how it works or doesn't for others...

Ive actually been keeping off the forums lately due to the changing layout. I cant click on anything, with any of my 3 browsers, without it immediately changing to the new layout no matter how many times I change it back.
