I thought Becky let you get stronger than her because you were so upset back when she could squat and deadlift more than you. That's why she has been doing so much CrossFit.

Let's be fair, I was like 7 when she started lifting, and she was my age when I started lifting. I was not sad about those things, in fact, I just wanted to be a bench jockey until I was stronger than the 3rd sibling. That didn't take long though. I didn't discover that squat was enjoyable until about this time last year. And I still hate deadlift, and she can pull more than me if she wnats. But she can't, because she's weak.

Thanks! It felt like death, but it worked.
Yeah, sibling rivalry runs strong in our family. In pretty much everything.
I'm going to remember that next time you try to pull Wilks on SMR.
Yes, that was my plan all along. Not anymore, though.
Yeah, I'm sooooooo weak.
So today, I did stuff to try to fix it.
Went to Vessels in Rolla. There was actually a guy there that powerlifts, so that was somewhat helpful. He called my depth for the last few, and spotted my last rep.
Squats (high bar):
8@bar
5@95
5@135
5@185
Put on suit.
Straps down:
3@225
2@275
2@315
1@335 (x2)
1@335 (straps up)
Switched to low bar, actually hit depth on the rest. YAY!
1@315 (x2)
1@335 (x2)
1@355 (straps up)
Never going high bar for ME again. When will I learn?
Sumo DL, no belt:
5@135
Added straps, cause bar had no knurl where my hands went, and there was no chalk.
5@225
5@275 (x3)
Ab wheel:
3x10

It was Joe. And he was gone before I started deadlifting. Apparently Steve is going to start working a day shift, though, so he will be around at more normal times.
No, hitting depth is much harder with a suit on...that's kinda how it works and all. Like I need AT LEAST 225 to even begin thinking about hitting depth. I pretty much always squat wide/low-bar raw. Every attempt I've made to do something different has been epic fail. And thanks.314/231/352/881@123

Good squatting going on...I think I'm going to look into getting some chalk. My bar at home is hurting my hands like crazy, which makes it harder for me to hold on to the bar. At the gym I don't have this issue, which makes no sense since they are both olympic bars...go figure! Good job! Keep it up!

Well, if it makes it easier to come up, it probably makes it harder to go down...simple physics!
I dunno, everyone is plotting against you?
A little late, but we'll take it.
Why do your hands hurt? I don't know how much chalk will keep them from hurting, but it certainly helps grip...
...and...
Rolla Thursday.
I ran around Ber Juan Park, which it says is 1.8 miles. It's rather hilly, so I couldn't quite keep the pace I normally do on runs.
17:36
I then walked it again, but the second time, I stopped at all the "Exertrail" stations and did whatever the "advanced" exercise was. It was kind of fun, but I felt like a dork.
The stations included such classics as:
Bench dips
Jumping back and forth over a hurdle
Chin ups (on a bar that was basically like doing them while hanging off a rolling thunder)
Leg stretches (I am not as flexible as I was in my ballerina/cheerleader days)
Balance beam (walking backwards on the 2" edge of a 2x4 is actually rather challenging)
Calf stretches
Bench leg raises
(Skipped the long jump station cause it was a mud pit)
Monkey bars
"Hip circles" on rings - I turned this station into a ring pull up station
Dips on parallel bars
Raised knee situps
Vertical jump
Sit and reach
Step ups
Incline ab curl
Second lap took like an hour.
I have now eaten tasty food and will go sit by the pool.314/231/352/881@123

I have no idea why my hands hurt...maybe they just need to toughen up. When I do deadlifts at the gym they don't hurt as much but they still get sore where the calluses form
Good workout! Sometimes it's fun to be silly and feel like a kid again! Yeah I saw your post in another thread...Arby's huh? Sounds delish!Push it to the limit!!!!

I do enjoy them. They were a little less challenging than I last remember, though.
They'll toughen up eventually...maybe.
Arby's is the bestest. It's one of the best ways to get a decent amount of decent meat for not a lot of money. And $1 chocolate shake.

It's a good workout!
Tuesday:
FINALLY HAD A BREAKTHROUGH IN MY SUITED DEADLIFT! Again, just had to realize it's nothing like a regular deadlift. The setup that helps me get it off the floor raw isn't the one that helps me in a suit, cause it'll get the bar off the floor for me.
Deadlift:
5@135
5@185
3@225
Add belt:
1@275
Add straps:
1@315
Add suit:
1@315
1@335
1@345
1@355

Again, baby smooth thick bar and no chalk, so I had to strap up. Getting at least 20 pounds of carryover now. YAY!
Good mornings (narrow stance):

Thanks everybody. I'm just happy to be able to get SOMETHING out of my suit on DL. I also think it'll help my raw deadlift a lot, since the suit quits right where my lockout problem starts...
And, Thursday!
Suzanne wanted to DE squat today, since she'll be judging the meet in Grass Valley on Saturday, so I decided to join her. My back was still a little sad from Tuesday, but I survived.

Crossfit Saturday!
Since we couldn't go to the Grass Valley meet, I got to go compete with Brethren one last time at the grand opening of Lifeworx Crossfit. There were 14 or 15 teams there from around the south bay.
Workout 1:
4 person team, one guys KB, one girls KB:
As many rounds as possible in 12 minutes:
10 KB swings per person (35/53)
10 burpees per person
Tire carry (all team members) 20 yds down, 20 yds back
We finished 8 rounds plus a couple of reps, winner.
Workout 2:
Max C&J
I tied my max of 155, but it only took one try to get 155 overhead this time.
Cleaned 160 (PR), but missed the jerk.
We hit 815 as a team, winner.
Workout 3:
1 guy and 1 girl working at a time, each pair goes twice.
500m row (each person rows one round)
20m buddy carry
15 box jumps (16", 20"
sprint (to DL)
10 partner DL (315#)
20m buddy carry
50 Double unders
sprint (back to rower, tag other team)
13:59, one team got 13:57, but we were a good four minutes ahead of the rest of the teams.
Good day!314/231/352/881@123
