Which exercise is more effective for lower back and hamstrings?

Conventional deadlifts or stiff legged deadlifts?

Also if I squat and do stiff legged deadlifts is there any point in doing conventional deadlifts?

Both types of Deadlift will hit just about the same areas. Conventional Deads will allow you to pull more weight, what with the bar in closer to your body. Stiff Legs can be used to accentuate the load on your hams.

A good plan of action would be to put Stiff Legs on leg day, and Deadlifts on back day. You'll get maximum benefit from both.

depends on what your training for. powerlifting or overall greater strength do regular df. anything else stiff legged is fine. i personally prefer conventional to be the best but thats my $.02
