I still have yet to buy a ZT because of the recurve in the blade. Im worried that Ill need a rod instead of a flat stone to hit that portion of the blade.

Thats what I was thinking. Would be a great beater blade. Especially for an Esee snob like me. Im sure the Izula folder will be quality though.
Yea Ive always freehanded. I need to invest in a good bench stone for at home. I carry a paddle sharpener in my truck or bag for touch ups.
Nah I didnt really care too much for em. I almost bought a rat II though."I believe that life isn't worth living if not lived passionately." - Nainoa

couple of weeks with the 561 now. Its great. Been ****ing around with it and using it for stuff I would normally use a fixed blade for and 0 problems. Before this I didn't think I would like any folder as much as the 350 but now the 350 is just sitting in a drawer.
Also jonesing for a microtech whaleshark.
It next to a 560

finally got my hands on a koster muck. its the perfect camp knife. comfortable. a little bit heavy with the weight forward. Cleaned it up, sharpened it and then used it to process some wood this weekend and not a single scratch on the blade which is pretty cool. Probably going to pick up one of his EDCs too.

its a stripping gel. He's removing the powder coat from the knife. A lot of people do it if they don't like the texture on a knife or if they are using it as a slicer since they feel it adds drag to the knife. I'm indifferent personally since I own both. The powder coat is a rust retardant, if you care for your knives regularly then its not needed.

Noob checking in. I just discovered the world of EDC knives and it's addicting as fuark...
I ordered a Cold Steel Recon 1 Tanto w/straight edge yesterday. This will be my first EDC knife.
And then today, I placed an order for this heavenly blessed beauty... Illegal to carry in my state/county, but I would be happy to just have it at home to fap to:

EDIT: Fuark. Why did I have to see this. I want it, but can't spend anymore.

This is the current folding knife situation in Australia:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SPYDERCO-...item4ac8028b3a
Spyderco Tenacious for 300 bucks .... People are buying them at that price too
They changed the folding knife laws a while ago so that now any knife that can flicked open fast with one hand cannot be imported and will be taken by customs ..

I don't pretend to know the political system you guys have, but I thought it wasn't a whole lot different than ours. You elect the people to make the laws, right? Elect better people. Start at the local and municipal level, then work up to getting better people in the national government.

lots of stuff in australia seems to have that problem. Sounds like you could make a decent dollar by being a black market supplier if its only illegal to import them, not to own them. I know there are a few australians who buy busse and esee in bulk at relatively normal prices. I assume those aren't illegal? Also, those rules are pretty consistent with certain jurisdictions in the US, you will go to jail for a knife that can be opened with one hand in nyc.

i'd get the ritter.
finally got around to getting a pic of the muck next to my 6.
For people considering stripping, this is my second 6. About a years worth of casual use and you can barely see the wear on the coating. If I turn it to the light you can see it better here
