    14 Days Of a PSMF/VLCD And Here's The Results

So back in November I took a month off and decided to eat as much as possible and basically Fulked(fat bulk for those that don't know). At the end of said fulk I planned on going on a PSMF/VLCD and see how it worked out. I'd say results are pretty good so far and I haven't noticed any loss in muscle mass. I also have no clue as to how much WEIGHT I've gained or anything because I didn't weigh myself at the beginning due to the lack of a scale. Anyways, on to some pics.

After Front Shot December 18th 2009

Before Side Shot December 4th 2009

After Side Shot December 18th 2009

Before Back Shot December 4th 2009

After Back Shot December 18th 2009

I actually died right after making this thread because of starvation mode, I lost all my muscle and just died. Not bad after 2 weeks, oh yea, I haven't lifted any actual weights in a couple months now

My diet consisted of about 150 grams of protein per day from lean meats along with a bit of fiber to keep things moving smooth. 800 calories was the max and I think I may have reached that level of calories once, I was usually consuming 6-700 calories per day.

"Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." I'd be willing to say that 95% of people on this forum accomplish nothing in years, don't be one of those people. It's sad, they seem to have the knowledge many don't but can't utilize it.

I'm at a 1000 now. Going to take a couple days off, eat at maintenance and jump back on later next week.

Ok. The only other thing I can think of is are you taking in enough carbs in vegetable form and are you doing cardio? If your doing cardio id suggest cutting it out and youll prob feel better on 1000 calories.

Enough carbs in vegetable form? This is PSMF, not PSMF with veggies in carb form...and he can do cardio if he enjoys it. BTW, real nice progress to OP, just 2 weeks thats pretty impressive.

I got mixed up there I was thinking he was on Lyle Mcdonalds rapid fat loss diet like i am which is a modified PSMF. And as far as the cardio I saw it as a bad thing because he's not feeling good on 1000 calories and thought he might be burning to many calories.

Because protein repairs muscle and you want there to be sufficient amounts when doing very little cals.

I'm too freaked out about doing something like this, lol

Earlier this year and into the summer I did a pretty big cut, 210 down to 156 at my lowest. I wasn't able to lift for about 2-3 months due to elbow surgery. Even with keeping at least 150-200 g of protein a day I lost so much muscle once I started up again.

But maybe once I'm done with my current cut which is I'm planning going to run me until about Mid Jan. Right now I'm working 1500-200 cals, EC stack + weights and cardio. It's working very nicely, so no complaints. But as I said already once I'm done with this cut I might give it a go, just for ****s and giggles and maybe get below 10%.

Grats on the progress though, glad it's working for you.

You probably lost muscle because of not working out, not because of anything else much.

Yea I know. Just saying, that OP hasn't worked out in a few months he said. Just after losing the muscle I did, just alot more gun-shy...as well as the fact I really don't need to cut much anymore. I'm already about 12%, and should be 10% when I'm done with this cut next month.

He said he hasn't lifted any actual weights in a couple of months, but weights aren't the only way to work your muscles, he could have been doing other body weight workouts for all we know. You shouldn't shy away from cutting hard because of fear of losing muscle is all I'm saying. As long as you can lift and get your protein in, you'd be alright.

Not sure why exactly you keep pursuing this conversation when all that was said was my feelings on why I don't think I could do this form of diet. Was no hate on the diet, no hate on the OP and no complaint by me.

Just posted my feelings about the diet and my own personal experience. And as I stated, I really don't need anything too hard core anymore. Was just small talk honestly.

Oh, no , don't get me wrong I understand you were just saying what you feel, I was just trying to show you its not anything you needed to worry about incase you wanted to do it but was reluctant because of something like muscle loss or anything, not trying to impose the diet on you =p.

Well, a PSMF is design usually done consuming between 6-800 calories per day, you'll see to just take in 125 grams of protein and that's it. Chances are with such low levels of intake you'll be creating far more than a 1,000 calorie deficit, especially for some larger individuals.

Haha, I haven't trained what I WOULD CONSIDER hard in a couple months but I have resistance trained and it might be considered hard training for others, I'm just fairly used to extreme and intense training.

Yep, no weights for now but in a couple of weeks this will be a different story.

I hope that with this people won't be so concerned about losing muscle mass or buying into the starvation mode BS when going on a low calorie diet when protein intake is kept adequate to maintain muscle mass. As I've mentioned numerous times on this forum, just be sure you're not losing muscle mass and make sure you're not having any other side effects. Train hard and diet hard and results can be had fairly quick.

I'd be willing to say that 95% of people on this forum accomplish nothing in years, don't be one of those people. It's sad, they seem to have the knowledge many don't but can't utilize it.

You still sitting at 148? My frame and build is pretty similar to yours, but I'm 163 and an inch shorter. Just curious if your legs are a bit skinnier or camera angles make your upper body appear larger for your weight

This is not meant as offense or implying anything. You just look larger than 148.

Haha, you got it right man, I have some chicken legs from the knee down so that keeps weight down and makes my upper body look far from proportional, my upper legs aren't that small but they don't match my upper body, for whatever reason my leg growth was always poor. I'm not sure what I weigh right now but last week I weighed 163 fully clothed on the scale. I'm guessing I weigh around 155 unclothed right now. I'll know on Wednesday when I get my scale back

    Lol, I hear you man!

I'm kind of the opposite, upper body is very slim. Lower body is not necessarily out of proportion but quite a bit ahead of my upper body. That's what you get when you play 15_ years of competitive basketball =)

Back when I actually played, before injuries derailed me. I had some pretty strong legs for never working them out with weights. First time I tried squatting I was 145lbs and squatting 225....at the time I barely was putting up 95lbs on the bench, lol.

Even with being removed from basketball, my thighs and calves are still pretty decent.

Yea, my calves are pretty fail that's for sure. I played plenty of soccer and always rode bikes though so I don't understand it looking at it from a training standpoint BUT everyone in my family has these little twigs for legs, both my mom and dad's sides have this chicken leg syndrome. I pretty much look like a stork, they used to call me big bird at work haha =/

I'm going to have a relaxed week off while celebrating, I'll probably be above maintenance that week. The week after that I may do a week of PSMF to get things started and then cut a bit slower, we shall see. It all depends on how much damage I do to myself during the week off.

Definitely my back and love handles burned up. Well, fat has come off everywhere but my back looks like it shows the most fat loss, I'm still far too fat for my liking and much fatter than I was in October. My legs are also starting to come in pretty well but my camera died right during the first shot, apparently even though my camera is off it still draws current =/ No more month long fulks for me =/
