I don't agree with everyone on everything, lol. There's plenty i disagree with, and sometimes I change my mind. But I don't see how I'm a happy-go-lucky type of person. I try to stay positive, but that doesn't mean the same thing. And how am I obnoxiously annoying and yet "happy-go-lucky" at the same time? I try not being a jerk with anyone unless they start it.

That's how i interpreted the movie as well. I didn't see it so much as "oh he's just socially awkward, it's how he naturally is." No, it was his mom being a controlling, manipulative, guilt-putting, shaming *B* with him.

He might not be like in the video if he was raised by your mom. He's like that in the vid cus his mom uses guilt on him and would shame him into doing whatever she wanted and always used that shame as a tool to keep him around and make him do whatever she wanted. Remember the beginning of the vid? She gets all mad cus he said he was gonna go out instead of making pork for dinner. Really? REALLY? I don't think it's too much to assume that since she was his mom, that she could've cooked it herself, but instead she tries shaming him into staying to make her dinner.

The guy obviously has more underlying issues than just being introverted. Like another poster said maybe he and his mother were abused? His father was an alcoholic after all.

Also, it seems his mum got some satisfaction from belitting Dennis and not letting him lead a normal life. She's constantly reminding him of him of how he reminds her of his father, it seems she wants him to be sheltered for her own comfort and her fear of the whatever those underlying issues are.
