New Gay Thread (Part 4)

I'm suddenly realizing it will take an awful lot of planning to run away. Gotta have a place to stay, an income, things to do while I'm there, etc. Can't just live out of a suitcase (which could get stolen and then what will I do???) And I wouldn't be able to come back home if it didn't work out.

This won't be easy, and I don't want to stay here much longer. The man I thought I'd spend my life with doesn't want me after all, and there's just no reason to stay in town anymore. I'll think of something.

I'm just going to state the obvious here. You live 90 minutes from the country's third biggest city which affords a very diverse and vibrant gay community. I'm sure all the rest of you country gays in Rockford have already moved to the City. What's stopping you?

Too familiar, and being such a huge city, too expensive. The idea is to go where I can't be found. It's a good idea, but as you know from living in Chicago, people from this sh*t hole visit regularly. By a remarkable coincidence, they are also 90 minutes from the big city. What's stopping me is that it's another step into adulthood when I'm mentally still, as a result of my environment, in high school. And there won't be a coming home to roost. Once I'm gone, that's it. My current home situation isn't a revolving door, it will be shut fast against me, and that scares me. If I had a lover to move in with, that would be different. I'm leaving for an uncertain future.

I'm not ready for that.

So I guess I'm still here... Oh well, gotta make the best of it.

Best times to go to the gym are early am, or mid afternoon....
Go to Cruisecritic.com and click on the gay roll calls to see if there is any other "family" on board....
All cruise ships also have gay meet and greets everynight, so chk either the cruise ship dailys or a board by the front desk for details.....great way to meet fellow travelers....

I went on Atlantis' Allure of the Seas back in February.

I'm good. I've almost never worked out as hard as I have in the last month. I do cardio every lunch and then lift after work. I've kept up this schedule for a while now. I'm exhausted, but it's paid off.

I'm off to the island of St. Barthelemy (St. Barts) in the French West Indies on Saturday for a week with Superman and my two BFF's who live in LA and London. It is going to a trip of a lifetime, so it will be well documented with photography and I had to be picture perfect. I practically never post a damn thing of ********, but this trip is so over the top cool, that I'll have no choice.

Remember when I made dinner for that guy back in January? He and I have had a tentative relationship that seems to be sinking farther and farther away from us. Tell me what you think of this, because I haven't a clue on this.

Our communication has been reduced to text messages. Several of them don't get a response. Here's what's been said lately. See if you can decipher what this is supposed to be.

March 24
Him: I'm in rehearsal. Mom arrives tomorrow, taking her on vacation.
Me: Poopie. Let's do this [dinner plans] when you return. Have a good trip.
Him: Thanks, hang in there!
Me: Will do. Fly safe, my friend. Call me when you get back.

Three days later...
Me: Hey bro. Hope you're enjoying sun, sand, pina coladas and Chicken Itza. Let me know when you're back. [He went to Mexico with his mom.]
Him: Thanks for your thoughtfulness.

A week later...
Me: Hey bro. Have you any time to see me this week?
Him: I'll text you later. Mom is visiting. [He never did.]

Five days later...
Me: I've got a capital menu planned, and I need someone to share it with. I'm hoping you'll be interested in it. Call me!
Him: Sorry, teaching right now. Dinner sounds great! Will call you later. [He never did, and didn't answer when I called.]

Two days later...
Me: Bro, what happened to you?
Him: Hi Scott, late night for me and a full day tomorrow. I'll try to catch you in the eve... [He never did, and didn't answer when I called.]

See a pattern here? Read on, this is where it gets interesting. Did I screw up here?

Two days later...
Me: (leaving a message) I'm starting to get the feeling you don't want to talk to me. Please call me. [gave my phone number, didn't get called]

Me texting: You once asked me not to play games with you and to be honest. Please show me the same courtesy. Would it kill ya to call me for two minutes and just say hello? [Got no response.]

The next night...
Me: I'm at my wits end here. If you're not interested in following up our friendship, say so and I'll leave you alone. Please talk to me.

This evidently got his attention.
Him: Sorry, just have too many irons in the fire to deal with much more right now.

What do you think is happening here? He's avoiding me, isn't he. Or is there more that I'm just not seeing? I'm at the point where I'll have to go to his house, uninvited, to get him to talk to me. I want this guy in my life, and I have reason to believe that at one time, my feelings were reciprocated. Maybe life is just getting in his way. What should I do?

I agree, let it go, all your doing with your continued attempts is opening more opportunities for pain for yourself. After 1, 2 at the most with no response I would just stop and move on. Start focusing on yourself and what makes you happy and stop thinking that having someone in a relationship with you as a solution for your life.

God no. It was just running with the joke. Although I am one of the few people to actually be a huge advocate of plastic surjery, I would never get anything implanted in my body.
